If the king is going to fall, it better be from an ass whooping. Anything remotely close will be judged in his favour.

Because 2 judges saying he won 3 of the 5 rounds?

I don't agree but I could understand a judge believing so.

GSP actually landed more shots. Had three take downs. Hendricks were just a bit more dramatic. But in the End GSP was still standing. Dontget me wrong. It was a very close fight. Sometimes the judges see more than we do and are not influenced by crowd reactions and the commentary.

Um, he got an ass whooping. He got hit so hard and so frequently that he didn't remember parts of the fight. Cain did the same to JDS. Imo if you get hit so hard that you cant remember the fight then that's a extensive ass whooping. At the post fight conf GSP had stitches under his eye, both eyes were black and blue, one was almost closed... His face looked like he got jumped by 5 guys with brass knuckles. JH was unmarked and looked like he did before the fight.

In the end it was JH's fault.. At the post fight conf he said that he wasn't trying to KO GSP out and he was only using 70% of his power. I think this statement pissed off Dana a little and I can see why. If you have the power and techniques to put the guy away why wouldn't you?
JH knew that GSP could not hurt him KO/Sub him so I think he wanted to bust up GSP for 5 rds and really make a statement kinda like Cain did to JDS in fight 2. JH could of really busted GSP more when he had him on his back and decided to stand it up. JH was clearly the real deal when it came to true wrestling. He dominated GSP in wrestling turning him whenever he wanted to and getting right back up after he was taken down.

The quality of punches and how bad the facial structure looks after a fight means very little to the judges. Total punches landed and take downs is what really counts.

I also strongly feel GSP lost that one but from a judges point of view it could have gone either way.

I can only guess that is was to prevent gassing, and JH tried to pace himself.
Yes you're right. He was pacing himself to go 5rds. Loved how he used the left knee to GSP's face whenever he tried to shoot on him. Work of art

I get around.

Thanks for posting the post fight press conference. Explains a few things and at times is more entertaining than some of the fights.

I can only guess that is was to prevent gassing, and JH tried to pace himself. We have all seen someone dump the tanks trying to finish someone, and fail. What happens is that gassed fighter gets it turned around. Perfect example was Shane Carwin gassing on Lesnar.
Dana White's response to the "70%" was great.

I wanted GSP to win but I don't think he did. However in order to cement a championship you gotta take the belt without controversy.

No problem. I always watch the post fight conf. It gives a better indication of how the fights really went. I also watch the post scrum.
