I agree she crossed a professional line, however I also feel that revoking her license was excessive. A 6 month suspension and a fine with a warning not to do it again orelse would seem more appropriate.

But I don't make the rules.

It's sad that we lose such a skilled person as this.

And I agree that the only reason this guy reported her was because she dumped him. The guy, whoever he is, is pathetic.

She will be able to practice again in 3 to 4 years tops. Probably sooner.

Agree with you about the guy being pathetic. Lives with his parents and fucks over Theepa out of spite.

It's not only Theepa's license being suspended that's an issue. For the rest of her life she will be the topic of conversation due to this highly publicized incident.

It will be difficult for her to gain the respect of her peers, subordinates and even those in her personal relationships. This in itself may be worse than the license revocation which is a temporary hurdle.

You are obviously ignorant of the laws which regulated the health professionals in Ontario. Doctors who have sexual intercourse with their patients can never practice again. This high profile egregious case will ensure that her licence stays revoked. No hospital board would ever want to be associated with her ever again.

Totally my type of lady. Never met a lady that could keep up with my sex drive but this may be the one!
I believe in cases like this the College of Physicians and Surgeons suspends your license for a minimum of 5 years. Plus she will have to pay big fines (six figures). I have no sympathy for her, she knew what she was doing was wrong and highly inappropriate.

A ruling from the College always states how long her licence is suspended for.

What did the ruling say?

I am fairly sure that this is a lifetime ban. If it was temporary, then her licence would have been "suspended" for a specified amount of time. They never leave it open-ended. Instead it used the terms "licence revoked" and "stripped of her licence" Her career is toast.

See my post below yours. There is zero tolerance. Her career, as Vince Carter said, "It's over."

If her career is over. Which I think it is then keep your eyes peeled boys. She might put up an ad on this site very soon.

Off topic, why is it bad for him living at home? What if he was productive member of society and caring for his parents instead of tossing them in a nursing home and putting that under the rug?

The College is mandated by provincial statute to protect the public, not the doctor. This doctor is free to sue the college and/ or patient in civil and explain her actions and damages. She seems like any opportunist and predator with many problems including poor judgement. She asked the patients to delete the electronic paper trail for example. Maybe she has had sex with other patients before?

This is today's world as far as sexual impropriety. Revocation of the licence for sex with a patient is standard punishment across all health care disciplines in all of Ontario. Zero tolerance and all practitioners are well aware of it. Fuck with a patient at your own peril.

The Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 (RHPA) is the legislation that governs Ontario's regulated health professions' Colleges.

Colleges also need to implement the regulations under those Acts, dealing with areas such as registration, professional misconduct, quality assurance , and more.

TBH, we don't know her skill level. The only thing we know for sure is she had enough knowledge and skill to obtain her licence. Just like every other doctor. Was she more skilled than most other doctors. all doctors, some doctors? Who knows? Apologies if you do actually know for a fact that she was at the top in this province. There are doctors lining up to get in the province and they have to show the same proficiency that every other doctor had to to get their licence.

However skill is only one aspect required of a doctor. Being ethical is another. If your standards in either one is below what is demanded, then there will be discipline of some sort.

Seriously... the people who have labeled him a 'pathetic loser' are that themselves.
They have no idea what his circumstances were/are and what he went through and is possibly going through.
But what they DO know (yet choose to ignore or minimize) is that as a Doctor, she consciously took an oath, then consciously chose to violate that oath, numerous times, knowing full well what the consequences would be if she were ever found out.
People point the finger at him and say "every relationship has the potential to end, what did he expect?"
What about her? She should have known that every relationship has the potential to end, and should have reasonably foreseen that this outcome, was a very possible one.
No sympathy for her, and no loss... one less predator parading as Doctor.
