The "Hobbying could be over - Help !" thread reminded me of an issue a friend has.

My buddy's wife bought them new iPhones. She manages all the tech stuff in their household. He likes to hobby from time to time but she's turned on "Share My Location" so they can see where each other are at all times. She said it's so if they ever lose their phones (he's lost one and had another stolen in the past couple years) they have a chance of locating it.

She doesn't suspect he hobbies, but he's worried of visiting a SP for fear she might question what he's doing at a random address. He asked me to help him figure out a workaround. I told him he's fucked, and not in a good way. lol

Anyone ever had this happen to them? I said I'd ask my tech friends. ;)

Turn off his phone before he arrived at his appointment? If that failed, you let him use your phone while he's out hobbying. Lots of ppl on here also suggested a 'hobby' phones.

Turn off share your location. Problem solved. You can still use "Find my iPhone" without sharing your location. I think your friend's wife is suspicious of something.

Alternatively - tell your friend to get a second phone and leave his "share your location iPhone" at his office. "honey, I'm working late tonight".

....That`s BS, she doesn`t trust him or is up to something herself. Guaranteed she`s a devious manipulating weasel.

.... Get a burner phone and leave the new fancy phone at home/office/work/gym, wherever.

You're probably right. If she wants to know his whereabouts, she's probably suspicious. But if he turns off "Share My Location" wouldn't she still be able to see his location or his phone's location using the "Find my Phone" feature?

Alternatively - tell your friend to get a second phone and leave his "share your location iPhone" at his office. "honey, I'm working late tonight".
How does getting a second phone help? Can it be programmed with the same number so she can see the location of his main phone so she thinks he's there, but also answer the second one when he's at his hobby location?

Tell him to relax.

It is just so she knows where *he* is, so she can bang the Latino pool boy (and they don't even have a pool).
Hahaha!

You mean this guy's wife will not only insist on him sharing his location, she's going to call him to make sure he's really there? You should be a good friend and tell him to dump his wife or at least put an end to her controlling instincts. It's not healthy. I'm recently divorced and as much as I thought my ex was a high maintenance head case, she never pulled shit like this.

But to answer your question - he could forward his iPhone number to his burner phone using the call-forward feature.

I don't know if she would actually call him. I know her and she's a pretty cool chick. He's just worried if she did. I'll tell him to get a burner phone.

Thanks for the tips and tricks. Glad I don't have to worry about this crap. lol

Tell your buddy time to give up hobby or come clean.

Lets face it, nature favoured women over men when it comes to intuition. When they sense something is up, they are usually right.

I remember dating a girl and we were starting to get serious. At the time i still hobby, and one night after dropping her off felt like going for a massage.

I drove to the spa, but lucky me there was no kne i wanted to see.

When i got home, I got a call from her telling me she forgot my phone in my car, and she had been tracking it.

Lucky for me there was a Mr. Sub right behind the place i visited.

Point being I was clueless about her phone in my car and almost got caught.

Sounds like she's suspicious of something. As another user mentioned, the 'Find My iPhone' feature does not require that the 'Share My Location' feature is turned on.

If I were him, I would lay low for a while and take a break from the SPs. Once that suspicion exists, the slightest mistake your buddy makes while hobbying (unknowingly having an SPs scent on his clothes, for example) will spell disaster.

Eventually the suspicion should subside and your buddy can just turn off the tracking feature or get a burner and leave his other phone at work and carry on with his ways.

but after he is done with her, she will want to get a pool for sure.

Get a burner phone. Leave the iPhone at a friends place and call forward it to the burner phone. That way he’s “hanging out with a friend” and can still answer the phone if called.

Leave the phone at work and say I forgot it at work while you do the deed at lunch.

This isn't rocket science

That! ;) Leave the phone in the office, and go home unexpectedly. Maybe you'll be happy, when you realized, your wife still like suck cocks after 15 years of marriage. Of course it's not your cock, but still count.:)

Lol comedic gold indeed! Had a mate once get the green light, "if he must", from the spouse..."just not in our bed, use protection, no one i know..."...and we all congratulated him for that, until later found out her green light to him was all about her giving herself a green light on some bikie dude he had her eye on...

Is this what married life is like? Madness imo.
Why is it that married people always say "don't get married!"?
Maybe this is why...

He should expect the same, if she's letting him screw other women. It's only fair.

Tell him to turn it off when he hobbies and very quickly that will flush out: A) whether she's actively monitoring him; and B) whether this is really about her suspecting he's cheating. That fact that he hobbies probably means she already suspects.

Here's a much better piece of advice... stop letting your wife pick out your cell phone and run your tech life!
