High school doesn't prepare kids for anything.Scrap the art and music classes and teach something kids can use in real life.
I agree. Highschool just taught me that kids my age were nothing but a bunch of narcissistic pieces if shit who think they are better than one another. It's similar to prison with the cliques and shit.

I heard from someone that some kids graduated from U of T in engineering programs cannot get any decent engineering job. After working in retail for a few years after the graduation from the U of T, those U of T engineering students go back to vocational college to get diplomas which they will have some meaningful jobs after graduating from the vocational colleges.

LOL.... even the U of T graduating from the engineering programs still cannot find a meaningful job after the graduation, forgetting about those 18 years old high school graduates to find a meaningful job / career after completing their education...

As someone who hires graduate engineers from time to time I can assure you that "what you heard" is wrong.

However

I did see a graduate engineer from McGill work in a gym in Montreal after she graduated. But she had worked there for several years while she was in university and she told me she really liked working there. She ended up continuing to work at the gym after she graduated because she was comfortable there and afraid to step out of her Comfort zone. Peter Pan principle.

Colleges/Unis are even worse. The liberal delusion/insanity is at an all time high these days.

I went both college and university and I can't agree more.

College was basically a watered down university that provides you no real-world or hands on experience like they advertised ( Mohawk college actually does). All it really does is help you prepare for university which in a whole was just a lot of theory. You learn from the job, but the education mainly prepared me to be seen as a optimal candidate. Nothing more.

My business has overwhelmingly gone after young workers who we can shape to the position, rather than more experienced workers who have skills that supposedly match the job description. Obviously this wouldn't be the case in some fields, but we've found that personality and the ability to learn effectively far outstrips current knowledge base, probably because a large amount of what is taught in school is practically useless in the field.

Due to this focus on younger workers, we now have a highly motivated, highly specialized workforce and don't have to deal with employees with big egos who think know the "right" way to do a job.
