We all know what a "ginger" is, right. Apparently in the states its taken on a whole new meaning. Does anyone else know what the new meaning is. I thought id turn this into a trivia question.

What is the new meaning for ginger?

Apart from describing a plant (ginger root, ginger tea), the only usage I'm aware of relates to people with red hair, pale skin, possibly freckles ... sort of like this:

Presumably, males might also qualify as "ginger" but who wants to look at a guy when you can feast your eyes on her?

Apparently some smart rednecks in the southern US, are using the term "ginger", as a replacement for the "n" word. If you rearrange the letters it spells it out.

I live in the midwest...apparently it hasn't migrated up north to us yet. Stupid southern racist hillbillies!

I find it intriguing that anyone who might use that terminology has the IQ and literary skills to converse in words with more than one syllable

Myself as well. And the second meaning isn't nearly as common as "redhead."

Light skinned Black people were sometimes called Red Negros, Malcolm X had the nickname "Detroit Red".

In the deep southern United States the SP's ads on backpage.com and similar sites sometimes describe themselves as Redbone (meaning bi-racial or light-skinned bi-racial). Wikipedia recognizes the term.

It can mean sliding a slice of ginger into a girl's ass before spanking her. It's something fairly hardcore submissives enjoy.
