Led Zeppelin was a Heavy Blues band who took most of their early music from Willie Dixon. Black Sabbath is the first Heavy Metal band.

I don't consider Zeppelin to be a metal band. They are a rock n roll band, heavily into the blues, guitar oriented, but not metal.

They were the first heavy metal band. Paige still ranks as one of the world's great guitarists along with Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton.
Nancy Wilson used to be smoking hot back in the day.
You might like this if you've not seen it.... Paige with the Edge and Jack White...

Do you like Plant's latest association with Alison Krauss? He's heavily into bluegrass now, which I enjoy.

I own the Bluray. Watched it about 4 times. GREAT movie

I'm a HUGE U2 fan. Love 'em. To me, U2 is THEE best band ever. A joy to watch Edge and Jimmy Page and Jack White - 2 guitar wizards and 1 guitar GOD. Jimmy Page stole the show in "It might get Loud".

As much as I love Edge, he is doing what God meant him to do (play guitar), Page is the master. While both Page and Edge are innovators, Page plays a type of guitar that Edge just could never play. (Mind you, I don't think Jimmy could do what Edge does either.)

This scene was fascinating and brilliant and highlights Plant's ear as a guitar player.

Also, Page has that damn grin that just makes you smile when he smiles.

Oddly enough (and your likely to disagree) I think White is the best of the three of them.... what that boy can do with a guitar (or wire, a pickup and a board) is amazing...

I love him on this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syDgyjECYZA

One fricking guitar....

For the first time in a long time, you're right.

I do disagree with you.....

1. Jimmy Page
2. Edge
3. Jack White

In that order. Though they are all brilliant for sure.

Led Zeppelin is a run down band. Who cares.

What I want to know is, will Rush perform at their induction into the RockNRoll Hall of Fame?
How dare you!

Ontario highschool student's question to Geddy Lee: Do you listen to Led Zeppelin?

Geddy Lee: We respect them.

:p

Absolutely! Maye we can call them 'hard rock' too, no? Great post Captain. Was this event televised? This is quite an honour for a British rock 'n roll band, although Led Zep had incredible success in the U.S.A. Their famous live album The Song Remains The Same was recorded in Madison Square Gardens (as you know). I remember seeing that in the movie theatre (when there was no such thing as TV music videos.

My brother knew a guy who saw Led Zeppelin live at The Gasworks on Yonge Street in 1968 I believe.
