Dating a frugal woman is as easy as quitting this hobby or smoking for good, if you want to believe.
Dude, you get brainwashed by those authors since it's uncommon to find women who are better savers, especially in consumption driven society like ours.
BTW, there is a subtle message from those articles that when the lady lives frugal, she is a role model, someone guy should consider a wife material.
OTOH when man has identical trait, he is considered at best less generous, at worst having some women gang up to point fingers and label him as cheapskate, person who is not hubby material.

I'm seeing a woman right now... she is brilliant when it comes to money. Her husband couldn't keep a dollar in his pocket if he tried, but she's a genius. Full time job, owns 3 rental properties, and does work on the side for play money. Plus she raises a family, babysits her zoned-out husband and has time for me. She knows what she's doing, that's for sure.
Hmm...if this Scottish lady was that cheap, she would probably save a tonne of money by not smoking/having cigarettes to lend in the first place.
BTW, the Scots are not even close when it comes to cheapness/frugality. Not according to the Jews, Indians and Chinese in no particular order....if Russell Peters is right.
It was so much easier to save and be frugal when circumstances were hard, such as during the Great Depression, or as new immigrants...but now everything is so abundant and easy...it's so hard for us to stop ourselves from indulging, and kudos to those that are disciplined enough to save and be frugal in the face of so much temptation.
Yes. But I'm the same way. IMHO, being 'good with money' is being able to save for the short and long term, while not leveraging yourself to the hilt so you can enjoy a decent quality of life. (Life is about living not about the shit you accumulate.) I've also dated on the other end of the spectrum. "Ohh shiny!" For any kind of serious relationship, I won't abide by anybody who's 'cheap' (assuming they have means), and I won't stay with anybody who picks a hand bag over a fun Saturday.
