War in Ukraine, war in the gulf, war in Africa blockade of Cuba. All we need its an explosion in Asia, we already had a few sparks like Thailand V Cambodia. There are credible rumors that British jets in Romania shot down Russian drones in Ukraine. Things are getting very sporty as the empire tries to reassert itself.

I think WW3 has started.

All coming back to Putler's long term Soviet strategy of sowing chaos to make Russia seem stronger than it is because its enemies are divided from within.

And to his credit, his investments in Trump, Iran and others have paid off.

Problem is that Putin and Russia are now in a literal existential crisis. Like the dog that caught the truck driving by, bit onto the bumper and now can't lt go.

By this assumption, it happened in the 2000's between Afghanistan, Iraq, and whatever other regional wars popped up and down.

I think a world war definition means large aligned interests going at eachother. With WW1 and WW2 had that dynamic. Right now the Ukraine war is a proxy war, similar to cold war actions. Iran is having a larger world affect due to the Strait, but in reality its been an economic war as much as anything. Israel is always at war now.

Thailand/Cambodia is really a border placement dispute over some temples, that flares up occasionally. I'm sure there are a few in Africa as well.

Basically where there is some interconnectivity its not anywhere near multinational battle lines.

So no. But the Strait is going to cause further economic woes. The greater immediate threat imo is a migrant crisis worse than the late 2000's one. If the gulf infrastructure gets really fucked up its going to get pretty bad in many parts.

WW III will be started by machines.

Jonathan Nolan was correct with Person of Interest, a vast network that will reduce the surplus population.

A third world war is basically impossible due to nuclear weapons. The moment any two nuclear armed states go to war it's gg well played for humanity because the escalation path ends at full scale nuclear war. Say what you will about the leadership of any nuclear armed state, they all understand that once the nukes start flying humanity will die out along with nearly all other life on planet earth.

While it's certainly looking pretty rough out there, we a far from the outbreak of all out war between great powers. If that's what's keeping you up at night I'd highly recommend putting your phone down and go touch grass for a week or two.

No direct conflicts going on between any of the real powers

A lot closer to a 2nd Cold War than WW3

Its either WWIII or another depression.

Hard to say if trump will attack Iran again with gas up to $4 and the GOP down 10%. He's getting set for boots on the ground and if he does then its going to be a heck of a summer.

But the combo of shutdown of oil, fertilizer, plastics from Hormuz and a super el nino mean its going to be a massive crop failure year. China has double solar exports but its hardly going to be enough to stop the economic mess. And if the AI bubble bursts then america is screwed.

Doesn't seem to be a happy ending possible right now.

Precisely. AND keep in mind the global economic impact it would have. I seriously doubt any politicians would allow something so destructive to happen to their wealth just for power. Money is always first.

I agree with that. Its most likely gonna be another depression. We may already be in the early stages of one. Recession and inflation is already undeniable. Look at the prices of everything, and the mass layoffs in the job market.

It depends. If you look at the stock charts, this is currently the top of the market. I see no depression happening here whatsoever

If they were that powerful, do you think the Strait would be closed? That the UAE would leave OPEC?

There are lots of forces competing here. Right now its looking like the emergence of Iran as a 4th world power.
