There use to be a baseball player named BABE RUTH who had a weird looking body.

That is a quote from Keith Law up top, baseball scout.
I know there have been a lot of very talented big fat slob hitters in MLB over the years.
Prince Fielder, Cecil Fielder etc etc.

AA says he is not concerned with filling positions right now. Just going for best talent available and he and his scouts project Wallace as a better prospect than Taylor.

Point taken. ? is then, why would they pick up another 1B/ DH prospect?
I really liked their call up Randy Ruiz -- didn't look out of the place in the line up. He would be a perfect 1B/DH.

Lind will play more outfield this season.

Here
The deal is done.

With all the suspicions and suspects confirmed.

It was heartbreaking watching the Doc put on a Phillie jersey. Wonder if he will go into the HOF as a Phillie or a Jay?

Do the Blue Jays currently have any players in the HOF?

The consensus is michael taylor is a better player and more major league ready than Brett Wallace so why would we fucking flip prospect? Didn't we get a new gm to get rid of the old JP ways and then jays turn around and trade for a player the failed to sign 2 years ago.

No, Alomar will be the first Jay to go into the HOF.

When Halliday does get in, he will get in as a Blue Jay since he was here since the late 90s.

Scouts seem to be evenly divided on who is the better player (Wallace or Taylor), and on who is more "Major League ready".

Three players who have worn the Blue Jay uniform are in the Hall of Fame.

Dave Winfield, Phil Neikro, and Paul Molitor.

Alomar will be first player that played a significant part of his career with the Jays, should he be elected.

Depending how long Halladay pitches for Philadelphia, and his level of success there, he might be elected as a Phillie. My guess, barring 3 Cy Youngs, and 2 World Series Championships, and an 6-8 year stint in Philadelphia, is that he would enter the HOF as a Toronto Blue Jay.

Not so. If Doc goes to Philly, wins another CY Young or two, wins a World Series, and puts up Hall-of-Fame numbers (if he retires today, he does not get in), he will go into the Hall wearing a Phillies cap. Tenure alone is not the determining factor.

Quick Note: Although Gary Carter's number 8 was retired for the Expos, since the move to Washinton, it has been reissued.

Of 3 players coming to Toronto, the one with highest probability of being half decent is probably Brett Wallace and he's better off in the AL where he can DH.
Some scouts think he can eventually bat around .290, hit 20-25 home runs and bat in 100 rbi's. Similar hitter to Jason Bay.

D'Arnaud looks like a generic prospect. Maybe a back up catcher one day. None of the catchers in Jays minor league system get me excited.

Drabek, - he was most important piece Toronto wanted. But, I've seen a million highly touted minor league pitchers crash and burn completely at MLB level. Most don't get 30 career wins. So, with Drabek I'll believe it when I see it and not one second before.
I've heard at club house level in minor league ball he's a really loud, egotistical, cocky guy with a lot of swagger.
He's also supposed to be an emotional, intense competitor. Kind of like Jack Morris that way. Be interesting to see what he can bring to the table.

Maybe the Jays can use someone like him. We don't seem to have any fiery competitors. He might also "accidently" hit a few Red Sox batters to teach them some respect. I'll never forget Papabon hitting a defenseless Adam Lind last year:mad:.
