The mean streets of Bloor West
Finally settled into the new place in the city and I'm gonna get back into the gym to work off the cold weather layer :D

Any suggestions for the best gym for eye candy? As I have a Goodlife membership, any specific GL clubs? I'm in the west end and will be checking out the one on the West Mall.

Cheers!

Being a fitness guru, I say Extreme Fitness has pound for pound the hottest women in the city.

In terms of goodlife, try etobicoke they got hot broads at that one for sure!

But are the gyms a good place to pick up (or even build relationships with)? Or do the women tend to do the workouts without wanting to socialize and just leave as soon as they are finished?

I've worked out for years and have never picked up a woman at a gym...they usually mind their own business and it's impossible to know what their relationship status is. Often, they are there with their SO anyway.
I usually try to get through the workout quickly and efficiently. Eye candy during the workout is always a great bonus.

Generally, no. The days of gyms as pickup-places are long gone. Most - not all, certainly, but the vast majority - of women there tend to be more focused on themselves ("Ooooo... don't I look goooooood!!") and other women ("Ooooo... don't I look so much better than that cow on the step machine!") than they are the men in the place.

There are exceptions, of course, but if I was forced into submitting a ratio I'd say it's about a 20:1 shot.

Any gym has to be better than where I go to-the YMCA, nothing but families and kids there. Unfortunately, most women wear their Ipods and are always on the eliptical trainers, and are thus unnaproachable. :(

I'm thinking of taking a yoga class, there seem to be a lot of women in there

Which Y do you go to and is it any good as a place to work out?

I was thinking about joining the Y. I don't care if there's hot chicks or not, I'm not there to meet women, I'm there to get fit.

James, the membership at the Y is flexible so you can use any of their gyms.
I use the Markham, Scarborough, and North York gyms

Markham is the newest and most modern, but with the smallest workout area. A lot of new equipment, but a lot of teenagers too. Eye candy here is Asian, of course being in Markham.

Scarborough is older, but just got an influx of new equipment. The problem with this gym is there are lots of young black guys, all taking a 1/2 hour on the bench press and acting like they're a badass. No eye candy in this gym.

North York is down to earth, older, and has a workout area with no windows. Its got everything you need, including the biggest pool. Eye candy here is mostly a lot of Iranian girls.

I like the fact that there is no music playing in the gyms, which is usually dance/techno in other places.

Membership at the gym runs around 51 bucks a month, and around 70 bucks a month for the membership plus service which means towel service, whirlpool, and nicer changerooms. Hope this helps

It does, however, I was wondering about the West End Y on College and Dovercourt actually as it's closest to home.

I used to go to the Y in Hamilton and it was quite good.

Then the Y in Mississauga, however, I actually liked Hamilton better. NOw that I live in High Park, the one on College would be closest, but I know it's older and smaller.
