Agreed. Maybe the most talented band ever. They were basically comprised as frontmen, any one of them could be the leader in any other band.

SO
John Entwistle--Greatest bass player.
Roger Daltrey--one of the greatest rock voices
Pete Townshend--Conceived the first rock opera, great guitarist, innovator
Keith Moon--as good as he was, probably the least talented of the 4.

What I find fascinating is that these 4 all-time talents not only existed as individuals but actually discovered each other. Serendipitous.

I'm sick of both Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd's music.

There is one band who's songs are timeless, profound in their simplicity.

John Fogerty could lay claim to being among the best rock singers.

I've heard this song thousands of times, works better than any anti-depressant pill. From the number of views, a lot of people agree with me.

Kiss...that reminds me of a scene from Bronson...oh Andy Love.

Something from the Scot farmer...best guitar intro.

Agree. They were shit from the 70's to the present.
Exactly.

Four fucking idiots. Ever listen to Paul Stanley read excerpts from his book on youtube? Fuck me, that guy is a self absorbed prick.

He (Stanley) never has a decent word to say about anyone.

It's all very subjective isn't it.

But for me, in order:

1. Beatles
2. U2
3. Pink Floyd
4. Led Zeppelin
5. Rolling Stones
6. Queen
7. The Who
8. David Bowie
9. REM
10. The Clash

A lot depends on my mood who I will choose to listen to though.

3 consecutive albums in a row that are all in the greatest albums of all time.

Tommy (first rock opera)
Who's Next (considered the first heavy metal album)
Quadrophenia (not any firsts--just amazing rock)
Right? ^^^ Incredible pieces of work!

If there's one thing for sure, much of the music from the iconic bands mentioned in this thread certainly stands the test of time!

Good list. I'd probably replace Stones and especially Queen with Steely Dan and Springsteen.

Steely Dan are greatly undervalued in the pantheon of rock history.

Beatles, Zep, AC/DC, Stones, The Who, Aerosmith (they killed it in the 70s, 80s, and 90s).

AC/DC is rumored to be working on a new album. Incredible.

malata is right, Kenny Rogers is a badass motha - Kiss is gay, metaphorically.

Strip away the theatrics and what do you have? Archie Bunker (sadly banished by SJWs, he has lessons to teach) said it best, "they have the punch of a fruit".

Who's Next is a great album, inspired from beginning to end - but it's not metal.
