Harold Russell lost his hands during WWII, those are not prosthetics he's wearing. It came out in 1946 and it's still in the 8/10 territory. William Wyler also served during WWII.
And he didn't make another movie until 1980, Inside Moves. It's a hidden gem. With John Savage and David Morse.

Red House over yonder.
Charlie Chaplin - City Lights ending

Charlie had "borrowed" money from a friend and went to prison to pay for an operation to bring eyesight to a blind girl he loved from afar.
He returns after his release years later and sees her in a store window. This is the moment she realizes he was the anonymous donor.

Haven't had a hard-on from seeing nudity from a mainstream movie in long time, but recently saw Nashville, totally boring movie but the strip tease scene is gold:

Big Night never gets old. Believe it or not, a Scotsman directed the film: Campbell Scott (narrow mustache in the dining scene).

I absolutely loved this movie, very under-rated IMO, so nice to see a very new background environment for an action movie.

It also depicts the astounding amount of slavery and raiding and human sacrifice in indigenous societies. An inconvenient fact given the narrative promoted today.

Not sure if indigeneous people's in Canada and the US participated in human sacrifice etc., But the movie was about the Mayans, who primarily lived in Guatemala.

I did visit the Mayan city in Tikkal, Guatemala and saw the ancient ruins, It was quite fascinating. Infact, Tikkal still has Mayan people and you can see them still wearing traditional clothing, selling traditional crafts etc., Quite fascinating.

I was wrong, Campbell Scott isn't a Scotsman, he's American. He and Tucci were high school friends, with familiarity they knew what they wanted to achieve. Unlike Bradley Cooper (Maestro), Tucci was humble enough to delegate responsibility. Which is why Big Night is a classic and Maestro is a mild disappointment. Hilarious opening scene, Tucci's script is sharp.
