tory, stintz or ford....... i'll take ford! for all his faults he is better than both them combined...... unfortunatly chow will run right up the middle and toronto will be well F@#$%$!!!!!!

Does anyone out there know what Tory's platforms on Subway vs LRT, Privatization on Union jobs, Designated Bike Lanes, Demolishing Gardener Expressway, Island Airport Runway Extension, Supermarkets or Walmarts inside or around Kensington Market and the Future of Ontario Place? Just to name a fews...........

Besides HE IS NOT ROB FORD, why he deserves our votes?

He looks good. He talks nice fence-sitting............

Lets hope no more "Nice-Guy" policy from John Tory "Every thing for Everyone" "Government Funding on all Faith-based Schools"?

He's a Conservative so specific policy claims don't matter. Like Ford and Hudak and Harper he will tell whatever lies he thinks are necessary to get enough votes to win the election.

The next 8 months are going to be a complete shitshow for the Ford brothers as they continue to alienate everyone.
As I was saying...
Police watchdog to probe Doug Ford's complaint against police Chief Bill Blair

Ford called on Blair to step down last year and accused him of a conflict of interest over a fishing trip with police board member Andrew Pringle.

The province’s police watchdog is investigating a misconduct complaint that Councillor Doug Ford made against Toronto police Chief Bill Blair.
A letter addressed to Ford and dated Feb. 21 says the Office of the Independent Police Review Director will probe the councillor’s complaint, after the Toronto Police Services Board determined that it “may constitute misconduct” under the Police Services Act. The letter was published online by Sun Media on Monday.
This could be a win-win-win situation for Toronto if come October, Blair, Ford and the other Ford are all unemployed and off the city's payroll.
Although most likely Doug's complaint against Blair will not damage the chief.

Didn`t someone say Rob Ford Got better chance to get re-elected with John Tory in? Don`t think Ford wants to face Olivia Chow by himself.

(You think John Tory wants Rob Ford to withdraw and face Olivia Chow by himself for example?)
No the polling analysis was that in every scenario, Ford loses.
https://terb.cc/vbulletin/showthread.php?470282-Forum-Poll-Chow-wins-under-all-scenarios
Besides there`s no way he`s going to stay straight for the next 7 months so sometime in the summer there will be another drunken drug-addled fuck-up that will have even more of his die-hard supporters turning away.

Every politician in the history of politics does the same shit. :frusty:
Except Ford actually did eliminate the $60 vehicle registration tax and the bag tax.

So you feel there is no money to be saved, no bloat, nothing to be cut at all in Toronto Housing, TTC, parks and recreation, garbage pick up, etc where savings could be directed towards transit?

He did get rid of the registration fee, but then had to cut services to pay for it.
He found some savings, but nowhere near enough to cover the $1 billion for three subway stops.
And he never found a cent of private sector money for subways, as he promised he would.
And who would give a lying crackhead that much money now?

Ford also stopped John Tory and provincial Liberal's $800 tax increase that would have hit people with tolls, gas taxes, parking taxes, higher transit fees, etc.

I'm annoyed that Ford gets drunk and talks shit, but at the end of the year it really does not matter to me. Paying another $800 per year in after tax dollars does make some difference.

Maybe you are wealth and tax increases will not matter to you, but for many people, maybe half the working population making less then average income, $800 is a noticeable amount of money.

Seems the most likely alternative to a Tory win is a Chow win. So you will be voting for Tory then?
Well he announced he will be keeping the Scarborough subway extension as well as making a DRL a priority. Still waiting on Garbage privatization, the Gardiner and Union contract ideas.

So far Sodnacki has stated he is for LRT and no finishing garbage privatization.

I prefer to see it as, Ford running for re-election will ensure Chow victory. :thumb:

The weirdest thing is that it seems there are 2 Fords running for mayor because I have never before seen a campaign manager talk directly to the press so much to give his own point of view on matters.

Part of me still expects Ford to win. Something about never underestimating the stupidity of the voters.

Since Ford has been in office, I'm paying more taxes. Ford isn't saving me money.

And, he hasn't saved the city $1B, but he's costing the city money.

Ford's been a professional politician for more than a decade, and only got into it because of his father and is completely incompetent as mayor.
He is as far from "new blood" as possible.
While the crackhead can count on the dwindling remainder of his hardcore supporters, Tory will pull most of the rational conservative voters, and Stintz will get others.
We could only hope that when his worship goes to the gym, he will boo boo and join his father.

I hate Ford, but I'd vote for him before I'd vote for Tory.
Do you live in the burbs? If you are going to vote for rofo, you may as well vote for a floating piece of turd that missed the first flush.

Um. I really hope you aren't implying you would like to see Ford die. Because if you are that pretty much ends any credibility. Seriously. Disagree all you want with someones politics but that is just bad............

The problem with contracting out the rest of garbage collection is that no one seems to be willing to go after the jobs for life provision in the municipal contracts. Ford brags that there were no strikes on his watch, and that is in part because he paid off the union and left the jobs for life thing intact.

The problem is the city already reduced all the staff not covered by jobs for life. No further staff reductions are possible. If contact out garbage in the east you have to find those guys new jobs, keeping them on the payroll. So no savings, in fact, it would be extra money to hire the contractor.

Until someone actually takes on the union progress will be slow, waiting for guys to retire. But Ford was all talk no action, yapping like he was tough on unions while buying them off.
