I'm just a little blown away right now.
I just finished watching Scorcese's documentary on Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue from 1975 on Netflix. Let's just say that it was a profound journey through the past for me. The doc is from 2019.
The closest it was coming to Toronto was Niagara Falls, NY. A few days later they announced 2 dates in Toronto and we went again. I have a greater appreciation for the man and his work today than I did back then. A literal genius. How many rock stars win Nobel Prizes for Literature?
Watching candid clips of him them, being interviewed for the documentary humanized him so much. He's funny as hell and charming, loose and natural with people around him that he trusts. I even loved the looks and glances he gave to others while on stage. There's a scene with him and Joni and McGuinn as she's teaching them Coyote and it takes place in Gordon Lightfoot's attic with him just sitting in the background.
I know there are some music lovers who will enjoy this a lot but I imagine most here won't be impacted the way I was, but in the words of Robbie, "Oh man, this is sure stirring up some ghosts for me."
