I'm sorry that's just conspiracy talk. There are natural reasons long stock market rallies die sudden deaths in the autumn. No one is controlling the stock market.
You might have heard about a global recession. U.S. industry is more exposed than ever to global economic activity.
I think this is where you get into quibbling mode and try to break posts down by challenging a sentence or even a phrase. Price gouging laws have been applied in unique circumstances and cases are indeed rare.
Since you brought up price gouging laws in 30 states I believe, I could have put the burden on you to list price gouging cases and how they had major impacts on price levels. They were isolated situations with very limited impact.
If you think Kamala's position on pricing is merely rhetoric, I would agree. It isn't going anywhere even if the Democrats control the Presidency and Congress

Oh, it is quite possible for things to go economically bad due to real global forces.
None of that contradicts Trump and his allies being willing to try and engineer an October surprise.
They have limited ability to do that, of course. They can make moves and they can hype the narrative when they do.
But it would be naïve to think they haven't considered it among their options.
I think this is a case of misunderstanding where I thought what I was objecting to was clear and also where I may have been mistaken as to what you thought the important part of the statement was.

Of course they are.
Price gouging is a fairly rare thing.
I don't think her position is rhetoric any more than most Presidential comments on domestic law is rhetoric.
Federal price gouging bills already exist and if one gets passed, I am pretty sure Harris will sign it.
That the only way she could IMPOSE "price controls" would be through some kind of executive action is why I asked if I missed details, since she didn't appear to be suggesting any such thing yet despite that the press decided to go all in on "price controls". No one has provided any evidence that she is actually talking about price controls since then, though.
When was the last time Trump was interviewed by Stephanopoulos?
I'm talking about these podcasts he is going on.
