We dont know yet.

Police say 2 videos now exist. Not sure if they mean 2 copies of same video or 2 different videos altogether. The 2 videos werent recovered until a couple of days ago btw
One news report I heard on the radio said they had to recover it (not sure if its one video recording or 2...) from a hard drive after it was deleted.

Holy fuck, that's a long report. I started to read it all, but it got repetitive... and I've read enough.

Ford has lost all credibility. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, due to the lack of (available) concrete evidence, and because I was foolishly hoping a public figure elected by the citizens of this great city, would NOT be:

  • so stupid to partake in such illegal activity
  • be stupid enough to allow himself to be filmed doing so
  • be stupid enough to get caught
  • be stupid enough to deny such things when he did get caught

I guess my faith, (or rather lack thereof), in politicians remains intact.

What clinched it for me, were the statements from the police chief.

The Mayor should step down and own up to the citizens of this city.

Congrats for trying to plow through it. My browsers both mangled it but saving the webpage gave me a better-looking pile of page-jpgs.

Relating this police submission to obtain a Search Warrant to much of the discussion here about proof, evidence, opinion and benefit of the doubt as I read has been fascinating. All this stuff is circumstantial, almost none of it is conclusive, and in almost many instances, one could imagine some innocent, if unappealing, scenario. But it's enough to give the police grounds to invade your home and property, leaving disorder and chaos behind.

It says two things to me: Thank goodness we have the rule of law protections that we do, which require police to accumulate real evidence to justify a search. And there: Now all the Internet lawyers who have been opining about proof and innocence can see what real evidence really looks like.

Of course we all know—don't we?—that this evidence (and the unseen video the warrant turned up) is not a conviction, or even anything sufficient to get one. It is only sufficient for an arrest (of Lisi, not Ford) only, because that doesn't require the high standard of proof for a criminal conviction. Like a friendly, civil discussion among friends or fellow members. Far too much discussion belaboured both sides of that stupid non-point and unrealistic standard.

Anyway, back to ripping apart the Bandwagon to build the gallows, everyone.

That's been repeated several times, another significant detail that makes this latest Rush to Judgement stupid. We'll know the story eventually; playing decapitated chicken over every mis-reported detail now is stupid.

You are joking - right ? Your not suggesting now that the police have joined the rest of the world (with the exception of Ford, his brother and super die-hard fans) in a conspiracy to frame an innocent man ?

Users are seldom charged but it's the pushers who police went after. Ford has actually done them a favour because in quietly following Ford & his video - a gang of Ford's associates have been charged with murder, extortion, drug possession and a host of other gang related crimes.
keep your facts straight. never heard or read anywhere that Blair mentioned crack in his reports(yet?) All mentioned was Ford is in the video. I don't jump into conclusion. if I want something to ring true, i'd rather have it broken down to me and get the facts right.

The Mayor has been quite clear. He will not be resigning.
and why should he resign? he never lied about the video, he only said he cannot comment on something that does not exist.

PS - I guess now he can comment on it.

Blair did say the investigation is ongoing.
If Ford gets arrested its mostly for extortion, with Lisi.

Ford has not been interviewed by the police as of yet either.

I think Ford is done. He will be forced to resign. He is rapidly losing all support on council.

Key in all of this is the charge against Lisi. Who was he extorting and what was he extorting him for? I suspect Ford is involved, but at what level is hard to say.

Its clear that there is not enough evidence to arrest Ford for anything. Why? I find it strange that police watched Ford apparently exchange money for drugs on numerous occasions, and yet never felt they had reasonable ground to get a search warrant. Suspicious meetings in parking lots, gas stations, in parks. They never had grounds to get a wire tap on Ford's phone? Why has he gotten a free pass?

Without reading the last 10 pages from today, I'm sure that the Ford nation is either claiming that Blair was bought by the Liberal Media Conspiracy or that the video isn't real until they personally have been allowed to verify its authenticity.

Saddest of all is this will in no way deter many of his supporters.

Okay, after scanning, you and your ilk have confirmed my faith in humanity.

Got a good chuckle from the sarcastic comments and the confused responses since the sarcastic responses mirrored equally ridiculous serious comments by Ford's zombies.

Perhaps the most relevant and salient point in this discussion in some time. There can be no way that anyone can prove what was in the pipe at the time of the alleged video. So, nothing can be proved. And if it could be- So what...? Mayor Rob Ford didn't steal any money or sleep with anyone's wife so whatever happened or didn't happen- happened in his private Life. So I say let Mayor Ford return his attention to building subways for his city and trying to save some money for taxpayers. Go Ford Nation. I almost wished that I lived in Toronto so I could vote for him in the upcoming election. Sincerely, Jon .

There you have it... The wisdom of Ford Nation.. He didn't hurt anybody.. Well.. Except anybody who's a victim of the drug trade.. And of course there's the citizens of Toronto who he lied through his teeth to for months on end.. Oh, also the reporters who he chose to slander in an effort to convince people that his lie wasn't a lie at all..

..... Yeah.. Except those people.

Go Ford Nation indeed.

Methinks it's too late to use the "Who cares if I smoke crack" excuse.. That excuse was on the table a long time ago and he chose to go with "Reporters are maggots" instead.

You are correct in that Mayor Ford didn't hurt anyone except himself. This is his private Life- not his public life. And remember, the Toronto Star and all of the Homo/Left wing in Toronto had it out for him right from the get go. Remenber just how vicious and ugly it was- and remains- at the beginning- and even before- his election? So, I say everyone can shut up and quit whining or prove that Rob Ford smoked crack... or whatever else. Show me the money or shut and go home. Let him get on with trying to do best that he can for his city and we'll see how things look with the perspective of time... In my opinion. Sincerely, Jon .

He was toasted long ago—well before the election. It would be more accurate now to say he's done, burnt in fact. Once we're at last shut of him, and he can stop pretending he has no problems, let's hope he gets help.
The police information today is extremely damaging, I hope that he has the good sense to resign. Whether he gets help or not, that is up to him.

I am more concerned that our City Hall will get their shit together. Unfortunately, neither Ford nor the people at City Hall have been known to possess a great amount of good sense.
