IMO, the most beautiful sounding song ever made, just close your eyes, listen to the lyrics, and just let it take you away.......

Seriously have you hacked into my computer and stole my playlist? This song is so incredible. I believe I posted it on another music thread in this forum.

Al Stewart is still going strong. Continues to tour in his 70’s.

I don't know what it is exactly about this song but it just makes me feel good inside.

One of their better songs...many covered it. This guy which I really don't know did a great job. Hall really likes it.
This is by far my favorite cover of Sara Smile.

I thought he died a couple of years back. Or maybe I'm mistaking him with Gerry Rafferty.

The 'Year of the Cat' contains such a supremely exquisite vocal from Al Stewart that it has a home in my 'Vox Totalis' thread.

Let's not forget 'Time Passages' which holds its own and then some to the 'cat'.

(P.S. "Moonlight Feels Right" has a great MARIMBA solo.)

"At Seventeen" by Janis Ian , was the inspiration for the movie "Mean Girls"- hence the character-Janis Ian

Al Stewart's voice sounds just as good live as on the studio records, not many singers can pull this off, Freddy Mercury, Karen Carpenter and Paul Heaton are in this category.

In contrast, Kat Perry sounds awful live.

The best live voices I have heard are Sade and Maxwell. I know not related to 70's...
