I once dated a Polish chick who smelled of onions and garlic...sometimes curry. I found it to be a turn-on.

Between a rock and a hard place
I find onions and garlic just ruin the taste of the Kraft Dinner.

I'm too lazy to make even a Kraft Dinner. McDonald's and Domino's are usually my chefs.

Milk & yogurt have been known to neutralize some smells. A GF I had long ago from Singapore said they soak fish in milk before seasoning and baking it to remove excess "fishy" smell.

There is an Old Wives Tale about swallowing Milk or Yogurt right after Onions or Garlic to reduce the smell coming from the stomach. I've never tried the technique exactly, but I have noticed that when combining milk with O &G, it significantly reduces the smell coming out from the pores and perspiration. ( I discovered this while using an obscure home remedy to relieve fever & congestion and boost immunity: Quartering 1/2 Onion & 4 cloves of Garlic and steeping it 6 hours in liquid Honey and fresh lemon juice - then eat it all, and wash down immediately with hot milk! )

Any ideas on how to get rid of the smell on my hands?
Hi Tina,

I cook with onions and garlic all the time. The one mistake I used to make was to wash with hot water. This is a no-no. Make sure you wash your hands immediately afterwards with COLD water. Hot water opens your pores, allowing the juice to soak into your skin.

Good luck, and don't give up on the garlic and onions! :)

Hey it's not that different from Honey-garlic sauce after all. You can add a little sugar or Splenda if you like! I clean up the honey at the bottom by mixing in the hot milk and drinking it!

I gotta say if a girl likes Garlic, she scores points with me right away, even if she's not too hot. There's this lmid-40's Korean lady in my building, a couple of times we shared the elevator to the laundry room and I could smell the garlic on her exhalation at arms lenght. Each time rushed back upstairs and wanked to thoughts of doing it with her in that elevator or on top of the dryers !

Dude -- I have to say, that's some pretty, hot imagery.
