Midnight Express

I was thinking about this movie the other night but haven't seen it in ages, although it was a great movie at the time. The music is phenomenal.

And lets not forget THE GAME. That movie kept me at the edge of chair the whole time. What a spectacular ending.
Oh yes! I love those movies that keep you guessing! That one is a helluva a ride!
JFK

Thirteen Days

Van Helsing!
Also very good choices. Seen all three multiple times. And the best thing about Van Helsing is STILL Kate Beckinsale in form fitting leather! (Also why the Underworld series is re-watchable!)

Yes, it's hard to pick just one but I'd still have to say The Shining is my favourite. Shawshank Redemption is probably in my top 5.

Also:

The Wizard of Oz
This is Spinal Tap
Titanic
Grease
The Fisher King
Forrest Gump
Casino
Footloose (don't laugh!)
Back to the Future (again, don't laugh!)
A Clockwork Orange
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Psycho
Casablanca

These are the movies I can watch over and over and not get bored.

Also Pink Floyd's The Wall though not sure if it's a typical 'movie'.

You picked some repeatable ones. I have the 25th anniversary edition dvd of The Exorcist. We should see that one together (cuz I'm scared to watch it alone). I'm sure you can extinguish my fears.

Not only is Kate looking good in that leather, it's that Transylvanian accent that drives me nuts. Goddammit is she sexy in that movie.

Titalian's posting of The Game is intriguing. I don't recall seeing this movie but then I've seen many and maybe it slipped my mind.

For submariners - DAS BOOT, THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER, CRIMSON TIDE

Here's a great scene.

The movies are coming to me piecemeal but two more I have to add to my list are Gone with the Wind and Lawrence of Arabia. In my opinion two of the greatest acting performances I have ever seen were Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara and Peter O'Toole as Lawrence. One of the biggest travesty in Oscar history is that Peter O'Toole did not win an Oscar for his brilliant portrayal of the title character.

John Paul Jones scene in Thirteen Days

Worth the watch! One of my favourite scenes. (The trailer above shows Curtis Lemay pissed off at the Kennedys. This scene shows a Navy Admiral who is trying to do his own thing. It shows what JFK was up against. Some say military intelligence had a part to play in the assassination. These scenes make you wonder.)
