Seriously?!....

How do you know that? Have you ever participated in a court hearing about conservatorship?
If you learn about mental illness most times it steams from the way a person is brought up. How many nut cases do you see in this world walking around FREE who are not diagnosed and who continuously do crazy shit and harm others. She had a substance abuse issue which can make any sane person act crazy. Britney is not fucking crazy shes a victim and this game that there playing in the system has ruined her life. The public cries and the media attention will soon get her released from this goddamn conservatorship. They conditioned her to be a star from a wee one to use her to live lavishly while they MENTALLY ABUSED her. If that was your life you'd want to get your life back too. I don't see Britny actinng like a psycho. I see a young woman crying out for help. If this judge tries to keep her in it i hope he has a fucking breakdown and gets labeled nuts so he can come down to reality that half the planets nuts just undiagnosed.

The term “nutcase” is a slur against the mental health community. Why can’t y’all call it mental illness? I get why Mandrill doesn’t. He has issues with the mental health community and loves using the term but those who are advocating for the mental health community, please at the very least, use the proper language. Don’t continue the stigma.

With the greatest of respect, I have been dealing with cases of mental illness all my professional career and you don't know anything about it.

With all due respect to you too, because i enjoy chatting with you in politics and other topics but I am very educated in that field as well. Didn't mean to come across so pugnacious but when parents fuck up their children and then the child gets labeled mentally ill most times the person will be medicated and have extensive therapy and get back to normal life only IF they have the right support network .I'd like to see the father evaluated.

Just no.

The old people are put in conservatorship because they suffer from dementia.

This stuff is nasty and unpleasant. No one is happy about this. Is it "a big industry"?.... Well, it's the US. Anything that involves health care and "expertise" is a big industry down there and those people are grossly overpaid by any but American standards.

Why would Britney's dad "let go of the reins" after 12 years, if she's still nuts? And if she now sane, the court appointed independent shrink will say so and the judge will free her. Simple.
Bullshit. Britney's dad cares about her welfare as much as you do. She is not nuts. She is his cash cow. And all the others hanging off her. One of the family's friends mentioned, the first thing he said when he knew she was going to hit it big was "I'm going to get me a boat" There is plenty of information to show that conservatorship is a money grubbing scam.

I wasn't aware that Brittany was paying her father any cash, so I did a little google search and it turns out she is

But she is not paying him a huge sum of money.

She pays the old man 16k a month in salary. That's about 200 k a year. Hardly exorbitant. In addition she pays 2 k a month to rent him some office space somewhere. Now that's positively cheap.

He gets 1.35 percent of her concert revenue. Now that's a nice bonus, but I will cite the example of Paul McGuinness who was U2's manager. Paul received 20 percent of everything. That's a lot. But compare that to Colonel Parker who was Elvis's manager. He got 50 percent of everything.

So I don't think she's getting ripped off by the father. I can't imagine Brittany trying to negotiate her way through picking her own managers and such. She is neither that bright nor is she competent to do so.

Anyway, here's the link:

Point you are missing here is that she didn't hire him. He wormed his way into control. Perhaps that's where some of the disgruntlement stems from.
Your point seems to be that the price for him freeloading off her and controlling her life isn't that exorbitant monetarily, so she shouldn't complain.
Her point might be. I never voluntarily hired you to be my personal parasite.

The old man was appointed by the Court.

I guess they figured that he truly loves his daughter and wouldn't fuck her around.

So far, I haven't seen any evidence that he is fucking her around.

She has to keep an IUD in. Well maybe the court knows that she's promiscuous and doesn't use birth control and has had 5 abortions at great risk to herself.

The only thing I don't agree with is that if she wants to quit, either temporarily or permanently, that's her right.

But as previously stated all she has to do is be evaluated by a shrink and if they say she's sane, she's home free. But she won't go for it.

So far in the 13 years since he Spearheaded, pun intended, the conservatorship she has been a nice little earner for him. What exactly does he do for a living? besides her?
The selfless dedication he has shown in micromanaging her wayward existence into her 40's is remarkable. Nice of him to put his own life and career on hold for these 13 years just for her. If she was just another broke single mom, I think he might have lost interest somewhere along the way since 2008 and got on with his own productive life. Sorry, what was it he was doing for a living before he began riding her gravy train?

The issue isnt how much the father is getting paid. The issue is that Brittany cannot fire her father.
There was a point where it seemed like she needed a caretaker. But im not so sure that is still the case now.

The concerning part is how difficult it is to reverse a conservatorship once it is put in place.

According to the experts on this board it is a piece of cake. Just snap your fingers.
