as time passes and more take advantange of our Health Care it won't be long till we are in the same boat as the U.S . Many of our RN's and Dr's have and are heading south of the border.

problem here is to many people abuse our system. for instance many people have no idea of the healthcare system and how it works.they stub their toe and run to emergency not realizing it costs 10 times more to process them through emergency rather than stopping into a walk in clinic first for an assesment.

emergency is for emergencies,not for people who have a cold and can't sleep or have a headache.

many services are now not covered by OHIP,and you can expect the list to grow.If you ever get terribly ill you better make sure your wallet is fat !

free healthcare is soon to be something of the past!

New Test for Native Canadians!

Ice Dog, If you used as a test do you know John Nunziata as a test of a true native born Canadian there were would be a hell of a lot more new immigrants who had been born in Canada. Enough people have trouble identifying their own MP let alone someone who was a backbencer, albeit a high profile backbencher over 10 years ago.

Second Chretian is not the first to break a key election promise and won't be the last. Look at Mike Harris for example. He promised more local governance of schools but then centralized the entire education system and cut the number of boards by more than 50%. (No I am not a teacher or a full-time professor). You can pick anyone from Chretian to Lastman and find key promises they failed to keep.

Finally this is a national board not a Toronto board and we have all sorts of people contributing, even Americans so how do you know submissivedave is from Toronto. I am but don't believe it is the center of the universe like some other people.

I am sorry I misunderstood your point. Nonetheless, what Big Bear said is true. Many politicians just gives us rhetoric when running for a campaign. Then when they are elected, they would care less what they promised us. But I guess thats how politics and politicians are.

After all polticians are still people and we can not expect them to have super human ethical-moral conduct. Yes they "lied", but perhaps something as important as taxation can not be scrapped so easily. Taxation is there to redistribute wealth. Nonetheless, I realize your point is that he broke his promise.

And no ... I do not have deep pocekts like you say we Asians so. If I did, I'd be going to visit my favourtie MPA every day instead of thinking about her while I jerk off ...

PS - I have been in Canada since the age of 5 and yes I am from Toronto.

PSS - I guess Rousseau is right when he said that all the Brits were slaves except on one day and that is election day. This criticism is also valid when directed towards Canada because our system (parliamentry) is modeled after the Westminister system. So I guess its better to have direct democracy instead of representative democracy, would you not agree? But then, that would be expensive ...
