It depends what you mean. It certainly wasn't a good day for the left.
I mean that the right only gained a handful more seats and mounted no real challenge to centrist dominance.
Like all Western politics, it's about finding the sweet spot. The European Left's challenge has been how to make idealism and ideology work in practice. Much of it sounds better than the reality and the inevitable trade-offs.
Every political party in history has the same problem.

I am reading the same thing, but I don't think Macron's decision to hold snap elections just prior to the Paris Olympics comes from a position of strength. Rather it appears to be a strategic maneuver to get ahead of the shifting political sentiment.

Yes, every political party has the same problem. However, you probably already know my perspective. Parties on the Left paint too rosy a picture of what expansive government can accomplish and its overall effectiveness.

They say it's because Italy is in financial ruin from covid and desperately needed EU funding to get their economy going again. I hope we see the EU collapse sooner than later. What was suppose to unite Europe has instead divided and destroyed it.
Yes, they're quite divided.

Europe's turn to the right is driven solely by immigration. Their leaders know it has become a major problem for the general population (like in America) so their time is up to play all their cards on that to get into power.

Will they succeed in changing things around? I doubt. The right is traditionally better at disrupting than reaching a consensus on possible solutions.

With liberal lefties in charge you can bet the crisis they
set out to resolve will be worsened.

Liberals have aspired to engineer society to embrace
equity and equality. They will end up facing backlash
against immigration and wokeism.

Liberals want to eliminate poverty. The result is out of
control spending that is going to create more poverty
in the future. Chance is slim Trudeau's debt will be paid
off in my lifetime.

Liberals might perceive themselves as bringers of
peace. In reality they are fueling the Ukraine war. And
they are not likely to be able to defuse future conflicts
in the Middle East and China's invasion of Taiwan.

Liberals have a penchant for calling righties climate
change deniers when the worse climate hypocrites are
almost invariably lefties. With progressive leaders in
charge of climate policies in most of the western world
global emission has continued rising and shown no sign
of slowdown since liberal activists brought in the attention
whore of the century to launch her climate movement
to save the world from impending climate catastrophe. Rest
assured by the time Biden and Trudeau are out carbon
emission will be as bad if not higher compared with what it
was under Trump and Harper. Climate-positive Norway and
Australia will of course continue exporting oil and dirty coal
with no regard to its climate impact to bring in more money
to buy support at home.

To be sure the right is no better than the left. But at least
they don't pretend to be saviors of the world. They may
pretend to be saviors of the world from the liberals though.

Bad example. Liberals are not lefties. They are social capitalist. Just like most of Europe.

In much of the west policies of the left and even moderate
conservatives are very much influenced by liberal thinking.
Boris Johnson, Sunak and their party for instance are way
more left-winged than Trump's Republicans.

What you said was an outright lie. No one was castrating underaged kids. Adults do know their gender - and yes, that is the meaning of being transgender, that they actually know their gender, which righties dont accept because you argue that you know their gender better than they do! And no one called Jews Nazis. So again, lies dont amount to criticism.
coming from a dude who thinks transwomen are real women... can they give birth? yes or no? would you fuck one? 😂 😂 some questions are too hard to answer with a smple yes or no aren't they?

I've been following this since last election.

Macron is a globalist
Le Pen a nationalist.

Will the French people vote for globalism or put France first?

Van Der Lyon needs Le Pen and Meloni, and they need her, it'll be interesting to see who gets more seats in the EU parliament come election time.

If it doesn't happen this election I can see it happening next election. There's been a huge global shift to the right, and I think it's because of the mass migration which has caused a housing crisis and high cost of living due to lack of supply n demand.

Le Pen is following in her father's footsteps, it was a different time back when he was in politics, if she wants the votes she really needs to be careful of what she says. Putin is rooting for her while she is currently pretending to be pro Ukraine. Or wait no that's Meloni. We're in interesting times!

I just hope another fascist dictator doesn't rise from this like Mussolini or Stalin. The Italians still celebrate and memorialize Mussolini, I watched a march/walk they had done for him in Italy recently.

Stalin was a Communist dictator, not a fascist dictator.

Didn't he kill almost 10 million people?

Dictators, commies, and fascists all kill the citizenry of their home countries. I don't wanna say the names and make it sound like they own the people, hence why I'm wording it like this.

I'm not a fan of any, but what I don't understand is why do people think the leaders like bolsonaro, mudro, orban, le pen, Trump are all evil fascist dictators? It seems as if people are afraid 1930& 40s happening all over again if these people get voted in.

Their getting labelled far right extremists pre maturely, scaring people out of voting for them.

I doubt very much le pen would kill French citizens, or Trump, bolsonaro, orban, ect.
I think they just want to put a kaibash on the mass immigration without vetting them and lower the taxes, cost of living, and just make life affordable again for everyone, imo.
