Disagree. Minimum wage of $17/hr is nothing. Not sure where you grocery shop to survive, but $45/hr for a single GTA person is pretty good. If you get that coupon app, at the end of the month you will even have enough to spare for a SP visit.

That's dangerous...river has current and there are pockets of 10ft deep on some rivers....lots of debris that could get you stuck...i'm familiar with every trib in Ontario....there are rivers that go from 3ft to 12 ft in a stretch of 50ft....
The lean years are already here, many universities are already in tight financial straits with years of stagnation of grant funding and caps on domestic tuition fees. Drastic cuts to foreign students could throw many into a financial crisis.
Maybe not so ridiculous when you consider that tuition paid by the domestic student only represents about 25% of the cost of educating that student with most of the rest footed by the government. I’m sure you aren’t suggesting that the government should fund international students as well as domestic ones?
Thank goodness some of the elite universities like UofT, McGill, McMaster, etc. have wealthy alumni who donate $millions.
It may help those schools, though they also have a very large proportion of foreign students. The other thing is the mega donors like to donate to fund physical stuff. Like buildings, where they can proudly display the family name, big donors tend not to want to donate to fund operating costs.

. Obviously the source of revenue for the government is tax. That’s how the government pays for stuff, from you (and me) paying tax. I think we are saying the same thing. I am not aware of another source of non tax revenue that the government has to pay for other stuff, while they reserve our taxes to fund post secondary education.It’s a free market, and they will charge what the market will bear. Except with domestic students, tuition is capped.
Exactly. I’m sure they will just increase the fees for international students. With less visas being issued there will be more international demand thus market will bear a higher price.

How is that a correction? Everything the government pays for is funded by tax dollars. It is an undeniable benefit to our society to have an educated population. Ergo, the government subsidizes the education of it's citizens.
