Canada don't offer that...Minimal professional competition and jobs that pay well for little effort.

That’s not what I see on IG! There’s sooo many remote jobs that pay over $45/hr requiring no skills, no education and no language skills. And no, I’m not talking about online sex work sites!!Canada don't offer that...
Disagree. Minimum wage of $17/hr is nothing. Not sure where you grocery shop to survive, but $45/hr for a single GTA person is pretty good. If you get that coupon app, at the end of the month you will even have enough to spare for a SP visit.Considering current costs of living 45 per hour is nothing. Its the bare minimum you need to survive. At 45 per hour, it is pay check to pay check in Toronto. lol.
That's dangerous...river has current and there are pockets of 10ft deep on some rivers....lots of debris that could get you stuck...i'm familiar with every trib in Ontario....there are rivers that go from 3ft to 12 ft in a stretch of 50ft....Where I live an Indian student drowned last summer in a river. Thought it was a good idea to go for a swim on a hot night but quickly realized he couldn't swim.
The lean years are already here, many universities are already in tight financial straits with years of stagnation of grant funding and caps on domestic tuition fees. Drastic cuts to foreign students could throw many into a financial crisis.Thirty percent is a lot of cheese!
The 50% clawback on student visas will cripple the universities. Over these recent gravy train years, the universities have already staffed up and expanded to enjoy the gravy. Now the upcoming lean years will be painful. Remember those foreign students’ tuition is at least 3x what homegrown students pay.
Maybe not so ridiculous when you consider that tuition paid by the domestic student only represents about 25% of the cost of educating that student with most of the rest footed by the government. I’m sure you aren’t suggesting that the government should fund international students as well as domestic ones?Such a HUGE rip off. Even the US is not this greedy. I went to school in the US, and I paid the "out of state" tuition fees, with a 50% scholarship, which brought my fees to the level of a state resident. U of T, charges, 6 times as much as they charge a domestic Ontario resident. Its ridiculous!

Thank goodness some of the elite universities like UofT, McGill, McMaster, etc. have wealthy alumni who donate $millions. The lean years are already here, many universities are already in tight financial straits with years of stagnation of grant funding and caps on domestic tuition fees. Drastic cuts to foreign students could throw many into a financial crisis.
It may help those schools, though they also have a very large proportion of foreign students. The other thing is the mega donors like to donate to fund physical stuff. Like buildings, where they can proudly display the family name, big donors tend not to want to donate to fund operating costs.Thank goodness some of the elite universities like UofT, McGill, McMaster, etc. have wealthy alumni who donate $millions.
Correction: Tuition paid by the domestic student only represents about 25% of the cost of educating that student with most of the rest footed by theMaybe not so ridiculous when you consider that tuition paid by the domestic student only represents about 25% of the cost of educating that student with most of the rest footed by the government. Not sure what the correction is . Obviously the source of revenue for the government is tax. That’s how the government pays for stuff, from you (and me) paying tax. I think we are saying the same thing. I am not aware of another source of non tax revenue that the government has to pay for other stuff, while they reserve our taxes to fund post secondary education.Correction: Tuition paid by the domestic student only represents about 25% of the cost of educating that student with most of the rest footed by thegovernmenttax payers. Present company included.
It’s a free market, and they will charge what the market will bear. Except with domestic students, tuition is capped.U of T, has an endowment of $3.5B! At the very least, they should probably double the fee for international students than the 600% increase. Seems like a rip off.
Exactly. I’m sure they will just increase the fees for international students. With less visas being issued there will be more international demand thus market will bear a higher price. It’s a free market, and they will charge what the market will bear. Except with domestic students, tuition is capped.
How is that a correction? Everything the government pays for is funded by tax dollars. It is an undeniable benefit to our society to have an educated population. Ergo, the government subsidizes the education of it's citizens.Correction: Tuition paid by the domestic student only represents about 25% of the cost of educating that student with most of the rest footed by thegovernmenttax payers. Yep, that's the buzz.I think this is the Indian government who is at odds with that of Canada, trying to make Canada look like a threatening place for Indians, as they have already been doing.
