Don't listen to the lefties.

False: Lefty claims that Ford and the Ford government are anti-immigrants.

True: The Ford government is pro-immigrants.
Ford government to remove barriers for internationally trained workers - CityNews Toronto
So, this is a good thing, the removing of barriers for immigrant workers.

However, when the Premier uses a negative stereotype about "lazy" immigrants who won't work. That is usually the opposite of any immigrant I've met or worked with. That also comes off as racist or anti-immigrant.

How would you have ever met the immigrants that don't contribute to our economy? How would you meet someone's 90 year old mother who never leaves the house except to go to her government paid medical appointments (which were beyond her means in her country of origin)?

Your logic is - when you're at workplaces you see immigrants working, so all immigrants must be working. Ask yourself whether you have any awareness of how many don't work, but do access public benefits.

Dutchie you are a genius, I trust you to give us the facts.

We should consider ourselves lucky we have such a wonderful Premiere like Douglas. In Saskatchewan, the pandemic is so out of control that the Chief Medical Officer broke down and cried. Moe Howard will get Ford re-elected.

Just Say No To Dougs is as "pro immigration" as hyenas are "pro wildebeests" and leeches are "pro blood sucking".

To have to defend yourself against your self proclaimed best friend schtick of "the lowly worker" and the "happily needy immigrant " undermines your self serving back slapping.

Oh, don't take it from me. Here's a breakdown of 2020 immigration by age:

How many of those immigrants over 60 are coming here to work or invest in Canadian businesses, do you suppose?

Most forum members know I'm not big fan of Doug Ford. I think he's made several errors in his management of Covid, mostly in pursuit of approval from the press. I hope the Ontario Conservatives replace him as leader before the next election. Doug's ambitions of getting into Federal politics might just assist.

However, despite the fact I don't like Doug or many of his decisions, I still know when he's getting the gears over a nothingburger.

Guys, immigration is a federal jurisdiction, except in Quebec of course. Doug has no say in who comes to Canada. It is up to Trudeau.

I think most if not all the elderly come here on the family reunification program and/or are asylum seekers.

Some of you might be thinking of freeloaders like:
"OTTAWA -- Khadiga Gurhan, wife of one of Somalia's chief warlords, Gen. Mohamed Farrah Aidid, is living on welfare in Toronto with her four children. Ms. Gurhan said she came to Canada as a refugee 3 1/2 years ago from New Delhi, India, when her husband decided to return to Somalia to fight against the regime of President Mohamed Siad Barre."

BTW: Our street "adopted" an Afghan family. The husband was employed by the Canadian forces and speaks decent English.

Announcements like this will lose Ford the remainder of his hardcore populist support.

I am guessing that the Migrants who deal with Drugs will be looked upon as "hard working" Canadians like this Family:

Globe investigation: The Ford family’s history with drug dealing

This investigative report reveals that:

  • Doug Ford, Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s brother, sold hashish for several years in the 1980s.
  • Another brother, Randy, was also involved in the drug trade and was once charged in relation to a drug-related kidnapping.
  • Their sister, Kathy, has been the victim of drug-related gun violence.

Don't kid yourself. There are plenty of immigrants who are living off the taxpayer and have done so for years. In some ways the Canadian government facilitates it, as in the case with refugees. What do you think the main role of immigration consultants are - to find their clients government money.

Luckily there are more immigrants who come here to seek a better life for themselves and their family by getting educated, learning the language and working. Some of the hardest working people I have ever come across are Vietnamese immigrants.

He's already lost a huge amount of his support with his conservative base for the vaccine passport system.

Actually, I do volunteer work with new arrivals, so I've seen refugees and immigrants. The vast majority are highly motivated to get to work. They don't want to live off of the dole, they want to contribute. This is like the slander against the poor, calling out supposed welfare queens. Sure, there are going to be a tiny minority that abuse the system, but I'd say it's like 98% are hard working and want to be able to support their families.
