Riding on the outrage of the BLM movement to office and then smack into this wall of defending what is really a much more horrid version of apartheid than South Africa probably isn't what they had in mind.

I strongly believe that the United States has a major role to play in helping Israelis and Palestinians to build that future. But if the United States is going to be a credible voice on human rights on the global stage, we must uphold international standards of human rights consistently, even when it’s politically difficult. We must recognize that Palestinian rights matter. Palestinian lives matter.

What started this conflict in the first place? Worshippers dispersed violently from gatherings after their days of worship. Yet Ultra-Orthodox demonstrators were allowed to go on their demonstration calling for the Palestinians to be evicted. Then there were killings of these Palestinians that ultimately involved violence with the Jewish demonstrators. Hamas were not involved up to this stage but then it was fodder for the cattle that got them to shoot those missiles into Israel and then a counter bombing by those Israeli Airforce Jets. Always easy to keep on blaming everything on to Hamas. But we have to condemn both sides in this particular conflict!!
Except they already have, they are at peace with Egypt and 20% of their population is Pali. So when you bomb people on the other side of the fence, you are boming the brothers, sister and cousins of 20% of your population. That can start a civil war quite easily.
Israel has the moral obligation to annex Palestine. They need to establish a Federation with a Palestinian State would be Gaza with a 20-40 year track to full unity and elimination of borders. This is the ONLY path that will prevent another massacre of Jews in the future.
Maybe Russia should provide Hamas with a full on short range air defence system and a shitload of MAPADS and ATGMs, all defensive, but would cause absolute carnage if Israel invades. But Putin is a fair guy, Bibi always gets a phone call first.

Just watching this for the last 40 years makes me think that Israel could have handled it better. The average Palestinians are truly the hapless victims here.
