Turks and Caicos are very low also. Would not take a 20 ft storm surge well.

But all this is normal, there is no global warming. LOL

This is when living in a condo or apt. building helps a lot.
Hurricanes cant knock over a highrise, and you dont have to worry about floods.

You can actually sit back and watch the show
You're kidding Right ?
Roofs fail,
Water leaks through walls,
Windows can fail,
Garages flood damaging cars & building equipment.
Hydro blackouts, means no elevators,no water (they circulate by pumps),can flush your toilet 1 time only (better make it count),no ventilation, no appliances, food spoils
Yeah Phil its just party time.

Here's a live resort webcam on Grace Bay, Providenciales. I was there doing drone and still photos for a month earlier this year. WOW! Kiss tourism goodbye for the next 1-2yrs if yer lucky.

And hope the hurricane doesn't stall over you - and the contractors who built the building knew what they were doing.

So you are going to sit back & watch the show from the stairwell:confused:
In the Dark since the emergency power will only last about 2hrs.
& the little bit of water damage is just a nuisance:frusty:
I may be a pussy ,but you are a True Idiot.

BTW, they are evacuating several miles inland from the beaches in South Florida.
They are obviously all a bunch of 'pussies'.

It looks like it was built on beach sand, what do you expect??!!
I'm surprised it's still somewhat standing

LMAOOO angess - you kill me :clap2:

What a great way to try and lighten the mood on this thread.

As for phil and AJSTAR - here is an article regarding your little tiff if people can stay or shouldn't stay in a high rise .
http://www.miami.com/miami-news/should-you-ride-out-a-hurricane-in-a-high-rise-170895/

It says you can ride out a hurricane in a high rise but you will be cut off from emergency services in case of flooding....so... that is all I have to say about that. LOL

What do you think buildings are built on in southern Florida, bedrock?
That building was destroyed due to flooding, not because the wind knocked it over:

http://www.businessalabama.com/Business-Alabama/June-2014/Flood-Maps-Re-engineered-for-Big-Bucks/

I suppose its possible the same thing could happen to high-rises in Florida, but from what I've read they have pretty strict building codes for hurricanes. Also when hurricanes Wilma and Andrew hit, I dont believe any high-rises were toppled. Just houses
