Toronto’s forecast this week calls for warmer conditions, raising alerts for potential flooding as above-zero temperatures could trigger large amounts of melting snow.

The Credit Valley Conservation says the current “snowpack” across the watershed measures up to about 80 to 100 millimetres of “snow-water.”

They warn that the melt could result in runoff of an estimated 10 to 25 millimetres with most of the melt occurring Tuesday through Thursday.

So, most importantly, you're saying that the golf courses will have a chance to dry out sooner.

What could be just as dangerous, as it is in all snow zones in N. American during long transition to consistent warm temperatures day and night, will be the melt/freeze cycle, that will create black ice on roads and sidewalks, low level evening and morning fog during "warm" intrusions, and potholes left and right. To say nothing of backyard ponding. And mud, featuring frozen foot/paw prints in the morning.

There is a pretty big culvert under highway 401 I can see when at my office.

Like 2 side by side box culverts about 1.5m high by 4m wide.

No big flow at last look Tuedsay night.

But I am sure the old reeds in the channel will have been flattede by the time I get back to look next week.
