No, you have a very low bar for a definition of a coup. If a policemen can stop the coup even without taking his gun out, it is not a coup.
'Hang Mike Pence'

That's what they were shouting as they invaded the capitol with the goal of stopping Biden from being confirmed as president.
Just because most of them were total morons doesn't mean that the white supremacists and militia among them weren't serious.

And a bunch of drunk Americans forcing themselves through Canadian border crossing is an invasion and an act of war. Yea, right.
No. Because they weren't sent by the US government.

Do you always believe what people are shouting? I guess, we need to arrest lots of hockey/football/etc. fans for conspiracy to kill the referees. If these supremacists and militia were so serious, why the only causalities were among the protesters? Some coup... You Liberals want to use big words like racism and coup all the time and it really diminishes their meaning.

Send? Really? There was a government order? Regular police/military were a part of that violent protests? Whom exactly of the protesters the president was a commander?

Fall, you asked if a bunch of drunk Americans crashing the Canadian border was an "act of war". Despite it being an irrelevant and silly analogy, I said it wouldn't, because it would not be an official US govt action.

Now you're trying to twist my answer and come up with some other nonsense and - frankly - it's getting tedious.

So, storming the Capitol was an official U.S. government action? You mean some U.S. official gave an order to his subordinates who had to follow it because they were government employees? But, please, do not let facts to stay on the way of your truth.

As always the right-wing intellectuals revert to claiming there's a world-wide plot to control people.

And always amusing to see when the allegedly pro-business conservatives freak out because a corporation makes a slight tweak to their offerings.

I am sorry, but anyone who look at this photo and still call Jan 6 event "insurrection" or "coup" is an idiot who do not know what a coup is. I do not see any tanks storming the Capitol, I only see a bunch of idiots. Hell, they do not even try to kill the policemen :). So, please, stop using big words to describe Jan 6 events.
I'm sorry you don't understand language or context well.

Last and do what? Take the Capitol building and sit there for 30 days? Wow, real power grab. Way to take control over the country. A coup??? Wow...
I get it.
You don't understand it and so you don't believe it.
That's fine.

Well, it was not even close to the coup. The protesters were not well organised, they had no plan to overthought the government (wishes are not plans), and they had no chance to do it, They had no real military support. They were just bunch of hooligans.
A coup doesn't require tanks in the street. In this case, the people running riot were just one part of the coup. The coup was actually being attempted by the Trump administration who got those people out in the streets. The term self-coup is the best description I have seen.

No, Fall.

Seriously, guy! How can an insurrection against a government be "an official US government action" by that same government?? ..... You are seriously confused.

Are you claiming it was 'sarcasm'?

Hey, if people break windows, beat up cops and swarm a building I'd take it seriously.
So do I. But not when they simply say something. This is why BLM and Jan 6 Capitol events were of the same sort and equally bad. Unlike Freedom Convoy which mostly traffic and noise inconvinience.

Yep, I am with you on this one. It was not a coup nor an insurrection. Just a bunch of idiots who want to shout, get in a fight, and show themselves how tough they are. Calling it a coup is not just a gross exaggeration, it is simply wrong.

Like I've said, if the "it wasn't a coup" people want to argue it was an autogolpe, that's fine.
