And they obviously believe that what's happening in India and Brazil is just "fake news" smh.
They actually believe that's MSM making it up, hired actors, special makeup, professional film crews, producing Hollywood quality films of propaganda. Not kidding you.

Fundamental Freedoms

2 Everyone has the following fundamental freedoms:
  • (c) freedom of peaceful assembly; and
  • (d) freedom of association.
Yes … WITHIN the law. Gathering in large groups anywhere in Ontario is not currently legal or groups without masks both of which happened there.
If they did this where everyone is socially distanced and masked then it’s completely legal.
I doubt that they are all from the same household.

No laws broken, no one ticketed, no one arrested, no one prevented from marching, no one stopped by the police and no violations of anyone's Charter rights. Try arguing something concrete instead of hiding behind the flag and Charter for protection.

yes they are illegal which is why you get a ticket for violating them. They are not a criminal offense but they are illegal. Speeding is illegal too but not a criminal offense.

“I think people need to understand these are not guidelines, even though the premier sometimes doesn’t sound firm on this; this is actually the law,”

See the problem is, if we let the disease burn through the community we will get a lot dead, but also you won’t be able to get into hospital or get care if you get hit by a car, have a heart attack or get cancer. If there are no measures to limit transmission we won’t get our life back, in fact our lives will be hundreds of times worse and the economy way more fucked than it is already. There are already almost 700 people on ventilators with COVID in the province. Even if they don’t die, they are I. For a couple weeks of hell, for them and family, and many will face a long recovery, some will be disabled for years to come.
The whole idea that we can “live our lives” by ignoring the pandemic and taking our chances is a fallacy.
Will you stop hobbying (or random hookups) until they find a cure for AIDs?
How about HPV?

The problem is the courts are throwing out the fines or the Crown is dropping them.
The bigger problem is poorly worded laws that seem to enforce randomness

Even the police unions are complaining about how the fuck should they try enforcing some of these rules

It did. Australia. Taiwan. New Zealand.
You really seem to have missed the point...
The lockdowns did nothing to prevent covid in any of those countries

All 3 of them slammed their borders shut in Mar 2020
No "essential" workers or any of that bullshit

To the contrary we (Canada) are still allowing things like international students (mostly from China and a few weeks ago India)
It is beyond pathetic (if schools are remote learning I fail to see why they should come here)
But don't worry Trudope is "working on it"
Now don't you feel better?

Heck migrant workers (farmers) are a huge source of Covid outbreaks in ON
But those happily cross border and not even required quarantine in hotels they go straight to the employers farm same day

This is more bullshit false information. These tickets haven’t even made it to court yet. provincial offences courts have been shut down because of the COVID-19 outbreak so no charges have been “thrown out by the courts or dropped by the crown”

You are partially correct the travel shutdown kept new cases out and the lockdown slowed and finally stopped community spread.
Their lockdowns were clear as to what was essential, were adhered to by the public and had more restrictions then we have now.
I agree it doesn't make sense that kids can't go to their local park or ride bikes with their friends, yet international and interprovincial travel is still allowed as well as international students can enter to attend universities for research programs because it has been deemed safe but kids can't go to school because it has been deemed unsafe.
You can't get a haircut or get elective surgery but you can still have plastic surgery done.
If the government wants to do a lockdown (which is needed right now) do it right, even if it is done provincially, shut down all entry, no one enters the province.
Only allow groceries, gas, medical, infrastructure maintenance, and first responders.
Everyone else stays home.

Of course a lockdown on its is not going to prevent infection on its own. We need other measures in place like contact tracing and clear and consistent rules across the cities, province and country. We ended up with a patchwork of rules that contradict each other and create massive confusion.

More importantly, we cannot wait and see for what the WHO or other countries do. Taiwan is an interesting case because they are not allowed into the WHO. So I expect that they didn't trust the WHO and took matters into their own hands.

The hotel quarantine rules was completely stupid. If the fine is the same for violating the quarantine hotel rules and going home, then you might as well go home. At least you have less chance of infection if you're staying at home.

Are you going to try and say you have worn protection every time you engaged in sex?
I doubt there is anyone who can claim that
Every time it wasn't with someone I was in a long term relationship, yes.

Well I’ve read news stories about this very subject and they indicate

According to CTV news 76% of Covid tickets handed out in Calgary have been either quashed by the courts or withdrawn by the crown. Since last March 576 tickets have been handed out in Calgary.
