I just had the most hilarious experience on Facebook.

I don’t normally get into debates in the comment sections of FB, but I made a comment to a guy this morning and he went ballistic.

He made comment after comment, calling me names, reporting my comments for moderation and removal. I actually had to dispute a claim made against with your community standards team which ruled in my favour. I did even know FB had this type of moderation system.

Then after all the bluster, he blocked me! LMAO.

I have heard of these things happening before but it was like a urban legend to me. I didn’t think people actually acted like this and had these types of internet tantrums. It was hilarious. Totally made my day. The stupidity of it all.

Anyone else have comment war experiences? So different then what I am use to here on TERB.

PS - and I just had to report myself for posting in the wrong section. LOL.

Yes they do have them and they don't get paid much even for video 3 sec to decide if suitable or not. Better off at Walmart.

You should watch this documentary - below- when you have a chance. Unfortunately any/every discussion boards will have the above nutjob.

They don't have live moderators, you report the post and they either take it off or ban you if its inappropriate.
They do. You can dispute the report. Which I did and it was put back. It just takes a bit to get past their automated moderation system.

Any board that uses the upvote system:

feature-engage.png

has Robot moderation, plus boards at their discretion can grant limited mod privileges to selected individual members by giving them the option to remove posts that don't conform to site rules, (or posts they don't personally like). I was given the limited mod privileges on thedirty dot com after two weeks, and used them a few times, mostly for stories and pics published in the comments for one story that had not gone through the submission process.

The 'Robomod' looked for keywords, and posts that contained them were pended, and usually never published. The word(s) that prompted the pending decision would be highlighted in the member's posting history, so you would have the option sometimes to resubmit the post, using different vocabulary. The taboo words list was fluid, and varied from board to board. On thedirty, you couldn't say "LucasFilm".

Here's one of my posts that was pended, based on a temporary ban on the word "Hefner", after there was a hoax posted on several sites that Hugh Hefner had died in December, 2016:

Hef.png

I had one post removed by a member with limited mod privileges after it had been published, and after it had received an upvote. I had compared the 2016 US Presidential election to the hyphenated and unhyphenated definitions of the word "sockworthy" on urbandictionary dot com, and some 'limited mod' Hillary supporter removed my post. I know it wasn't the staff mod; he gave me upvotes all the time.

In the upvote system, the total number of upvotes will appear to the left of the arrow, as a blue link. Hovering over that link with your mouse pointer will display which members gave you a vote. Clicking the arrow a second time removes an upvote, if you gave one by mistake. It's considered very gauche to give upvotes to yourself, and if other members notice that, they will often out the perp for having done so. Statistics of total upvotes received appear in the member's profile page.

On most, but not all, boards using upvote, comments that receive the most upvotes will appear at the top of the page, as opposed to in the chronological sequence on postings.

There is a reason I don't comment on any public forums in Facebook. Too many people losing their shit.
You got that right. Some people post pretty crazy comments -- ie, their innermost thoughts and feelings -- on Facebook, and they do so under their real names. Anyone, such as prospective employers, friends or family members, who runs an Internet search on them will find their nutzo comments.

I found a former work colleague who espouses some pretty messed up opinions online, and I wasn't even searching for him when I discovered them -- it was in the comment section of a CBC story. In real life, he's seemingly quiet and normal.

I have a Facebook account, but it has no photos and no comments of my own. I only use it to access sites that require you to be logged in to Facebook to see them, or to post comments on other people's pages. I log out as soon as I'm finished.

Does anyone remember "Tom", the guy who wanted to be Facebook friends with everyone? I think he rethought that, after he started receiving a Facebook e-mail notification anytime any one of his Facebook friends posted anything.

Jenesis and I recently agreed to not quote each other anymore, and I'll keep that agreement. I don't believe most of what she says anyway, including her assertion that the tits in her avatar are her own. If that IS true, the pic is probably REALLY old, or the photographer is below crotch level, looking up. Or both. She's been using the same avatar for more than six years, and at her age, gravity is not a friend of the buxom.

There's no rule that says an avatar needs to resemble the person who writes the handle. I don't look anything like Mr Sluggo.

I honestly don’t remember the no quoting, certainly not in every thread. Maybe in the one thread we were disagreeing in. If that is the case, I apologize and I will refrain from further quoting from now on but naming me in a post, talking about me, in a thread I created, is kinda like inviting me to respond anyway, so what is the point of no quoting??? LOL

As for my tits, it is an old pic. It is not photoshopped. It is a selfie actually. I post new pics of them all the time. I use to post titty Tuesday pics every Tuesday before I created my personal OF site and started censoring them. If you know this avatar is 6 years old, you know about my other pics and you proved you had another handle because this one is only a year old. Regardless - My tits are real and they are fucking beautiful.

But please free feel to refrain from looking if they offend you.

Jenesis asked me to stop quoting her in post #133 of this thread.

I've never claimed that I never had another handle. I joined this board in 2003. My previous handle on this board is still an active account, but I can't remember the password. The e-mail address I used to set up that account no longer exists, so I can't use Reset. I went entire years without making a post here more than once.

I could probably get back into the old account if I try passwords that I used to use, but there would be no point; the private messages box would no longer exist, and I can find posts using Search. I also consider it unethical to use two different handles on one board, something that is a common practice on some other boards. One board even had some handles that more than one person used; a well known member would quit the board, and someone else would impersonate from a later date.

I check Reddit sometimes. They have, inter-alia, nice nude pics of "Drywall Girl" and Miss McCann and I thought I saw a nude Lindsay Lohan on there as well.

Anyway, back to FB..

Would there be a better way to set up the "echo chamber" effect? I really can't think of one...

Hey, what's up? You went from attacking her debating style to attacking her on a personal level? In debating that's behaviour indicative of someone who is losing, or, has already lost the debate.
