Ferrari have let Carlos Sainz down. In spite of setting the poll lap he has to start at the back of the grid. I realized that he's being penalized for going over the powertrain limit, it seems sleazy to me after he could have been badly burned by a fuel pump rupture in Austria.

This makes me livid, it never ends. This was driver error due to cumulative turns. Meaning, even if Verstappen caught up to him, the Ferrari is superior on the turns. After an accumulation of corners, Le Clerc started to gain distance on his rival. Le Clerc took too much power into the turn and spun. Red Bull fixed their early season suspension problems and have been dominant since.

It was nothing more than driver error that caused Le Clerc to crash.

Who do you think will replace him? Latifi...? They can rename it to Team Canada LOL

Bet a lot of drivers will be calling AM...I can see Danny Ric calling up Lawrence Stroll begging for a job.
Do you bring in an experienced driver or maybe some driver from the Merc young drivers program?
AM uses Merc engines so don't be surprised if it's a driver from that program.
I'm sure Toto has already made calls.

Just the other day Sky Sports ran a story Merc might need to cut ties with Nyck DeVries. Maybe the deal is already done.

Good choice.
Have to measure the choices. A veteran to help develop the car and program. or rookie with a cheap contract but very inexperienced.
I don't see Lance as a team leader. Nor is Danny Ric.
I think if they could get Alonso that would be beneficial for the team overall. But Alpine is farther ahead than AM is.

Since Vettel drop the news, imagine the pressure will be on Alonso and Hamilton to do same. Time for the elder statesmen of the sport to move aside.

F1 should alter the DRS rules for the lead car. Regardless of gap to car ahead the driver in P1 should have access to DRS if the following car in P2 is within 1 second. Makes it much more of a fight if you are going for the lead instead of being able to simply walk on by

The intent of the new rules was to eliminate DRS, why can it not be done

80 point lead for Max at the break, I doubt anyone will catch him.
The brain trust at Exor is pissed, I doubt Mattias Binotto keeps his job. Why was Le Clerc put on hard tires when he had an 18 seconds lead and why did Sainz's car lose power in the last 15 laps?

Like Country Joe McDonald sang, "I'm fixing to die Howard Beale rag".
