Very close to being the best film of the previous decade, Ferrari haven't been competitive since Marchionne passed away.

Rush 2111.

I hope it doesn't wind up like Westwood.

Onboard at Le Circuit, perhaps the only track to host an F1 race, (Canadian Grand Prix, 1968 and 1970), where no section of the track is flat.

Brazil isn't until November but you'd have to think they are looking for a replacement.
I agree, not sure there’s enough room at the end of the year to squeeze in another race unless the decision is made soon but I’m sure Liberty has a plan B in the works just in case. Thankfully we’ve got a good shot at basically a full season even if a race or two is lost.

I did not care for this movie at all and I love F1, Hunt was portrayed as a cartoon character, liked to drive fast and sleep with many women. Yeah congrats Ron Howard you just described about more than half of the F1 grid in the time period, also just the look of the movie with that washed out colour palette was dreadful.

Wonder when Vettel will take off the rose coloured glasses, first 2 races were not representative LOL

P15 after P2. Yep, think thats the best he can do no matter how many times he straps in. Hurry up Stroll and send his ass packing. Tons of new drivers out there better than him. They should let some young talent drive his car every weekend to try them out. Lance at least scores in the top 10.

Bet he fails to get out of Q1 come Saturday!!

Sprint Races...what a joke F1 is starting to become. Will be worse than elimination qualifying.

CART, technically the Champ Car World Series, had a race at Le Circuit Mont-Tremblant on July 1, 2007. I saw it on same day tape delay on NTV, the 'Newfoundland Superstation' that was on Rogers Cable at the time.

Gilles Villeneuve was killed in qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix at Zolder, 39 years ago today. In his memory, here are two of his greatest races:

Complete 1979 French Grand Prix from Dijon, raw video feed with German commentary. This is the race where Gilles had a famous last laps wheel-banging battle with René Arnoux. 697 MB, divx/ .avi file type. The video quality is good, for unreleased video sourced from videotape from this era, but not up to current high def standards.

Click the download button on the main page, and you'll be redirected to another page. Click the free download button, and wait 60 seconds. The download should start automaticaaly.

Complete 1981 Spanish Grand Prix from Jarama, raw feed with Italian commentary. This is the race where Villeneuve's turbo car held up a train of Cosworth powered cars for many laps. He was faster on the straight, and able to hold off all challengers on the twisty sections. Video quality is similar to 1979 France. 687 MB, .mpg video type.

Click the Like, if you want to see more downloadable vintage Formula 1 races in this thread. I have four other currently online, and a large collection. My favorites are the 2009-12 BBC 'red button' races; these were entirely from onboard cameras, and the viewer had the option of choosing which car he wanted to follow. The regular broadcast was in a small picture-in-oicture. I have about 40 of those, in high definition widescreen, but I won't be able to upload any of them for at least six weeks.

Enjoy!

Gilles is revered in Italy. I visited Maranello, he has a street named after him: Via Villeneuve.

Ferrari are writing off another season (shit kickers). They are channeling all their resources into their 2022 car.
