I call it pay back for the shit call in Silverstone. Lewis wiped out Max and got away with what amounted to no penalty and was awarded the race win.
I think Lewis got away with a huge violation early in today's race.
A few laps in Max over took Lewis and Lewis went wide. Instead of coming back onto the track immediately behind Lewis he cut through the corner for a huge advantage.
No action was taken. If it was the other way around I have no doubt Toto would be crying to Michael Masi. Merc seems to have a lot of influence if you ask me.

Was stunned Lewis did not let Max by before the DRS was enabled, as I recall it was still a lap or two away.

Lewis had the pace advantage, once DRS was enabled he would have gotten Max a lap or 2 later if things stayed clean.

Cannot discount what Perez did earlier to get Max within range...big thanks goes to Latifi, even though he is not for want Max should get him a nice 'Christmas' Gift

Thumbs up to Sainz, Lando and Gasly.

Sainz bested LeClerc...Congrats to him. Bet no one saw that coming.

Lando made Riccardo look like an novice racer. Danny's win was gifted to him.

Gasly...he dragged that car to places it was never meant to be in.

Bottas was no where. Russell stank the last half of the year once he joined Merc...Without that gifted 2nd place in Spa he hardly beat Latifi. Think Latifi is under rated.

Aston Martin...hope next year will be better, maybe in 2024 or 2025 they will be a force...until then...keep it on auto pilot.

Next year should be interesting.
New car regulations
Honda no longer in F1
Will Alpine and Alfa Tauri continue to improve.
Will Haas continue to be at the back of the pack. Most likely.

Stroll Sr hired Merc chief aero engineer a couple of weeks ago and an ex RB areo guy as well. That should help If they get the new car right from day 1.

Depends when they can start to work at Aston Martin. In this industry they typically have a period of leave before they can actually join their new team, the leave could be as long as year. The 2022 car has already been designed, in a few short months they will be testing it. Bet most teams are already building their new cars

Guanyu Zhou and Bottas are the Alfa Romeo team drivers for 2022, replacing Kimi Räikkönen, (retiring), and Giovinazzi, (moving to Formula E). Alexander Albon is replacing Russell at Williams.

Most likely, both Williams drivers will receive little or no salary, and will have to pay for their ride from prize money earned and personal sponsorships.

Drivers paying for F1 seats has a long history in F1. Slim Borgudd, (15 entries, 10 starts, 1 championship point with ATS and Tyrell in 1981-82), was the drummer for ABBA.

Ken Tyrell ran an F1 team on a shoe-string budget for much of the last 25 years, following Jackie Stewart's retirement until the team's last F1 season, (1998). Ken had an eye for spotting talented young drivers. His strategy was to sign them to multi-year contracts for a small amount of money, let the driver impress the larger teams with his ability, then he would sell the contract, (or let the driver buy it out), when a big team wanted his talent. Drivers who got their start in F1 with Tyrell include Francois Cevert, Patrick Depailler, Didier Pironi, Michele Alboreto, Martin Brundle, Stefan Bellof, and Jean Alesi.

Bellof was a great talent, and seen by many as a future F1 driver's World Champion, but tragically killed in a sports car race at Spa in 1985. I saw him in person at the 1984 Canadian Grand Prix, and he looked a lot faster than his position on the time sheet, mostly because he and teammate Brundle were the only two cars in the field without a Turbo engine that year. On slow street circuits or in wet races, Bellof was very competitive in his short F1 career. Like Gilles Villeneuve, he was 'stupidly brave'.

1984 Monaco Grand Prix: Here's Bellof passing René Arnoux's
Ferrari for 3rd place at The high Mirabeau, in pouring rain, with his right front wheel over the curbing. This was Bellof's sixth F1 race, and the first time he raced at Monte Carlo in any Formula.

videocapture2021-12-15-07h10m21s763.png

On the Detroit Grand Prix circuit, there was a chicane near the end of the lap that slowed down most drivers, but not Bellof - there was a path through where the car was inches less wide than a racing line, and I think only Bellof used it. Keep in mind that the curbing was much higher in those days, so drivers risked car damage if they didn't stay entirely on the track. Today's F1 cars would put up much slower lap times if they couldn't drive over the curbing on corners.

Haas is the only team that didn't score any points in the 2021 Constructor's Championship. Unless the FIA has changed the rules again, this means that they will have to pay their own way for transportation to the 2022 races, a sizeable expense.

Sebastian Bourdais get real. What does he think Bottas's job was for the last 5 years? No mention of Bottas doing the same thing.
The blue flag displayed by marshalls is not a command to allow a faster car through. ANY driver ahead on track has every right to defend his race position by any legitimate means. If it's a backmarker about to be lapped, it's a completely different story.

Merc Ferrari McLaren Williams etc have all used their number 2 driver to slow other cars.

I loved the way Sergio drove to allow his teammates who was fighting for the WDC to close the gap. He is doing what he was paid to do.

Bet Sebastian B. forgot what Lewis tried to do at the last race in 2016 when Nico beat Lewis to the WDC. Lewis also slowed as a means to slow Nico to allow the cars behind to become a threat...as I recall the cars behind Nico also slowed a little as they did not want Lewis to win.

Just read an article that Lewis and Toto won't be attending the F1 gala in Paris today.
Couple of big babies. Total lack of sportsmanship.

They still won the Constructors, stunned Toto would not show up for that award.

More surprised at Merc head office(Corporate office in Germany) not telling him to go. Shows total disrespect for the sport he says he loves.
I used to respect him but this weekend totally changed that.
