If Hamilton has a poor race and Max wins, he will be the crowned the Champ this weekend.

Bet in reality Max and Lewis will leave this weekend virtually tied. Everything will come down the final race...be a winner take all deal
I called that one right - leaving on identical points.

I do think Max will get DQ from this race if he did brake test Hamilton....& Hamilton will be crowned the Champ...same type of shit MSC did to JV in 1997.

In Schumacher's case, (1997 European Grand Prix), there was an onboard camera shot showing that his move was deliberate. His penalty was that he was excluded from the 1997 Driver's Championship results table, but he did retain his five wins and 78 championship points.

One omission in the Wikipedia link: Frank Williams made a deal with Ron Dennis of McLaren for the final laps. McLaren drivers Mika Hakkinen and David Coulthard would hold station behind Villeneuve's damaged car. In return, Villeneuve let both drivers pass him easily on the final lap. Private agreements between two Constructors from the same country are not historically uncommon in F1.

And now with the data being collected from the car they will know exactly what each driver did and when - steering brake, throttle etc down to the millisecond

My post #243, quoted by MONTYY, was subsequently edited to correct the penalty imposed on Schumacher.

I would hate to be one of the Race Stewards this weekend...no matter what they decide someone is going to be unhappy with the call.

I do think the way Masi handled the race yesterday needs to be called into question. I think they should axe him.

Masi seems super slow to know when to toss out the red flag, the SC or the VSC. Think at a track like Saudi if there is an accident, toss out the VSC right away, close the pit lane unless the car has a blown tire etc., then take a moment to decide if the SC needs to be deployed or the red flag needs to be shown.

I hated the standing restarts yesterday too. Takes so damn long to get the race going. Restart the race from the pit lane behind the SC, after a lap or two let the race start with the lead car acting as the Pace Car.
