Logically, it doesn't matter whether the Bible is viewed as the literal "Word of God" or just human statements about the will of God or the teachings of Jesus. Choosing to live your life according to a prescribed system of morals is an act of faith. Quibbling in logical dissembly about a matter of faith is insanity. I am not religious myself, but I don't find it difficult to understand why so many people are, and how they believe being religious improves their lives and the lives of those around them.

Well, just because there is a high probability of failure does not mean that we should not try. We have laws against the same problems and some still break them, too. Should we not have laws?
