Is this for real? Guess who won World Player of the Year? His name is Kaka. Guess who was second in voting? Messi. Guess who was third? The contrived English media king C Ronaldo.

I can only think that you're presuming Ronaldo will win it for 2008. Unless Portugal wins the Euro, not likely. He'll probably come in second or third.
Wasnt there some players vote Ronaldo won, where they take votes from players based on play starting from September to May???

I forgot the name of it but I thought he won that.
I could be wrong though

EDIT: He won the 2008 PFA Player of the Year. But of course thats EPL only.
I thought he won something else though, I'll keep googling

EDIT: OK so thats all he won, but he is frontrunner to win this years FIFA player of the year, no way will Kaka catch him

Based on the past domestic season, I dont know how you can possibly argue against C-Ron not being the best in business right now. Messi may be better at the ball with his feet, but Ronaldo doubled him in goal output. Ronaldo is durable, Messi gets hurt too much and he's still very young...I reckon he'll have a serious injury within the next few years. As for Kaka, well he is going to have a tough time eclipsing 30 goals in Milan!

I understand the top players get fouled more, but Ronaldo absolutely has to quit with the arm flailing and theatrics...is it June 7th yet??

For C Ronaldo his arrogance will prove his undoing.

He's now playing ManU and Real against each other by not making a commitment. Let's not forget that Luca Toni has scored 40 goals, this past season, as well. When Ac Milan inquired about his availability, he said that he's committed to Bayern and will stay in Munich as long as they want him. C Ronaldo should do no less for United. Real Madrid have played this song and dance before; they did it with Ronaldo in 02 and with Kaka last year. With the former they were successful because Moratti is a wimp, with the later they only managed to piss off Berlusconi.

Luca Toni has given credit for his success to his teammates and his rapport with Frank Ribery. Has C Ronaldo ever acknowledged that his success is based on Hargreaves and Carrick covering up his mistakes?

If you think that United has displayed good conduct in all off this, think again. The EPL and Serie A are at loggerheads at the moment over English clubs taking advantage of Italian child labour lays to poach some of their prospects. In Italy a child cannot sign a professional contract until he/she is 17 years of age. Arsenal poached first signing Arturo Lupoli, he has been ruined and may never play top tier football. Then United poached Giuseppe Rossi, he is now displaced. Now United have signed 15 year old Andrea Petracci - the FIGC is contesting this move.

Agreed, it also looks like Patrick Viera will miss the first game, and maybe more, and Ryan Babbel will also miss the tournament. Babbel and Viera probably wouldn't be missed, France is stacked with midfielders and Holland has plenty of attcking options.

Err, you do know he was the captain till he got injured.
Also his games have been spotty for Madrid, some games excellent others not so good.
But to call him useless not true, he's still a starter and wouldve been important for Italy's defence

Then why was he gonna start all 3 group matches???

Thats because Canna plays central defence, Ramos is primarily a rightback.
I'm not sure how you can compare the two
between Canna and Ramos ..it boils down to heart... Cannavarro left a sinking ship when Juve got down graded... the better players with Heart stayed. i'm not a true Juve fan... but admire their accomplishments.

Fabio did not leave Juve he was sold. Only five of the top tier players were asked to stay (Gigi, Alex, Mauro, Trez and Ibra). Of the players that were sold; Fabio and Zambro would have preferred to stay in Serie A. They made a promise to Juve that they would not sign with another Italian club.

It seems to me that Shrek (Chiellini) doesn't know his own strength. Without Fabio, Mr Congeniality should stay on the bench, he doesn't have the foot speed to take on the Dutch. For Barzagli and Chiellini the future is now.

...unless Donadoni is on the phone sweet talking Al Nesta out of retirement.

i hear what you're saying...but emerson and Zambrotta are AC Milan now...i guess they weren't asked back.Cannavaro can stay at Reale ...honesty..he wasn't the major talent that won the WC2006...was Pirlo.. i didn't see how Canna won the footballer award over Pirlo
