I'm floating some cash and need to find it a place and I was tossing about the idea of getting into some ETNs. I'm fully exposed on ETFs, T-notes, and other mainstream securitues so am not looking to go there too much further. I was curious if anyone here has any experience they can lend me. thanks in advance.

Never tried ETNs but it sounds pretty risky to me.
I don't see too much upside in the near future but given the current volatility in the market & with what just happened to Bear Stearns, I think you need a high appetite for risk to venture into ETNs. But I'm no expert.

Personally, if you're real flush, you might look at funding some private mortgages. There is still an opportunity to make double digit returns with a much more controlled risk.
If you're interested, talk to a good mortgage broker or law firm that handles private real estate investments.
