Another favourite English anomaly:

incomplete is the opposite of complete
inflammable is the same as flammable
Ah yes, I just LOVE this when someone brought peanuts in a shell when they were asked for SHELLED peanuts in a recipe.

But really, nobody got thrown off in pronunciation in actually reading this, have they? It's not exactly a tongue-twister.

P.S. Terpsichore? Last time I remembered, it was a rather gay and joyeous kind of music. Almost better than those post-17th century stuff.

If you can pronounce correctly every word in this poem, you will be speaking English better than 90% of the native English speakers in the world.

After trying the verses, a Frenchman said he’d prefer six months of hard labour to reading six lines aloud.

When it comes to reciting poetry to work my way into a womans heart, I've always gone for either the "Was this the face that launched a thousand ships" from Doctor Faustus, or a couple of goodies from Omar Khayyam.
I think I'm going to learn this one now, though. It should have been subtitled "Instant panty-remover".
