Starlink is the game chamger and money maker. It will bypass all the present monopolies and oligarchies in telecomunications world wide unless they get their own up. Bureaucrats like the CRTC will be helpless to stop them. And it has a potential user base of billions.

I also expect a lot of pushback from dictatorships.

If you need historical perspective think about the VOC - the Dutch East India Company 400 years ago had a inflation adjusted value 8x Apple or Standard Oil
Telsa is interesting but limited application - no doubt Musk is a visionary and can influence change but the real numbers are not that impressive.
Time will tell - there is nothing like an ICE for visceral excitement
Audi devoted a great deal of time and resources in perfecting the electronic sound generator for its new E-Tron GT.

They understand that sound is an intrinsic and visceral part of the driving experience.

Instead of implementing a fake rumble and firing of cylinders, they went with futuristic.

I personally like it.

So true. Call me old school, but unless they pump in fake engine sounds, and that's all it is, fake noise, nothing beats the wide variety of incredible music produced by ICEs and tuned exhausts. Not to mention the sounds of all the different types of racecars. I think ICE are going to be around for a hell of a long time, for that very reason. Governments won't make people turn in their ICE vehicles. And for that reason alone, the classics will continue to go up in value. And there will always be petrol available to run them.

Yes, because they sound like shit otherwise. No character.

If you can find a way to sucker governments to subsidise
your corporation to the tune of hundreds of millions of
dollars it surely would help.

Isn't Vladimir Putin the richest man in the world?

Elon Musk like Ted Turner before him played the long game. I remember back in 2012, they said he had gone insane, no one is saying that now. Electric technology is becoming cheaper but it still leaves a large footprint. Other companies are in the EV game, Exor has been for awhile, not sure about electric cars having no character?

Just heard that he wants to use half his money to make the world a better place, and the other half to build a self sustaining city on Mars. I could think of better ways. Build a water treatment facility to deal with the shit river flowing from Tijuana into the ocean in San Diego. Sprinkler system for California redwoods. Machine guns to stop the people de foresting the planet.
I own 4 shares of Tesla for shits and giggles. No more because logically the bubble must burst at some time. I am going to ride those babies either way. Into the ground or to the predicted $40,000 a share by the end of the decade.

When I said no character, I was talking about the sweet sounds of different ICE vehicles. Some of the classic sports cars sound the best. For the most part, EVs pretty much sound the same. Unless they purposely make them sound like something other than an electric motor.

Take Formula E for example. They sound like nails on a chalkboard to me.
