Dry Ejaculations?

I've been on Alfuzosin (uroxatral) 10 mgs for years, for BPH (benign prostate hyperplasia), or, enlarged prostate. Lately, my stream has been getting weaker and weaker, and I'm up 4-5 times a night to urinate. I was referred to a urologist, and had a cystocopy (not fun), and my urologist put me on tamulosin. (Flomax).

Since then, I've had dry ejaculations....I get a increase in sensation, feel like I'm going to ejaculate, but, then nothing comes out. I DO NOT enjoy this.

Anyone else have this type of experience?

You are ejaculating, but backwards: into your bladder.

I got put on Flomax and Avodart. I was told it is the gold standard.

After a few weeks of barely being able to get it up (even with vit. V), I told my doctor I was not ready to give up my sex life. He took me off the avodart.

Whether it's age or meds or a combo thereof, things ain't what they used to be. Gotta learn to live with it.

I think the medical profession calls this retro grade ejaculation. Don't think there's any cure for it.
The drug relaxes the muscles at the top of your urinary tract, facilitating more complete voiding of the bladder. However, there's a sphincter at the top of the urinary tract just below the bladder that contracts when you ejaculate and prevents the ejaculate going backwards into your bladder. That drug weakens that sphyncter very often.

Apparently, when you urinate everything out though, the sperm is still fertile.

There is a drug that restores more strength to that sphyncter, but it's counterproductive to your bladder emptying problem, AFAIK.

At least talk to your urologist. Your average GP is often not aware of the physiology of the stuff they prescribe for your problems, as well as the latest advances.

OMFG this thread made me wanna get laid and appreciate my youthful vitality. Mind you I have experienced dry ejaculation but it was when I broke my record for most number of masturbation in a day. Crazy what the internet and some boredom can do lol After the 5th time or so you start shooting air lol

Thanks for the info guys.

I used to have problems with my prostate, like you , up several times in the night to urinate.

My doctor put me on Flomax and right away I started to have problems getting hard. I stopped Flomax.

For the past year, I've been using a alternative type supplement that works well for me. Its called Brad King's Ultimate Prostate. At my last checkup, my doctor examined my prostate and said, "its small".

I still get up in the night, a couple of times, but when I do, I pee like a racehorse and the supplement does not interfere with my sex life.

If you want to know more feel free to PM me.

I skip a Flowmax 24 hrs. before I know I will have sex. The pharmacist warned me not to take Flowmax with Cialis as it may cause your blood pressure to drop and you might faint as you cum.

Very common, it can happen at any age. I knew a guy when I was in high school that would go take a piss and then come back and then uncontrollably piss in his pants a few minutes later. Flowmax was not available back then..

Thanks guys.

On either drug, I've never had a problem getting hard, or staying hard (knock wood....hahahahah), but I don't feel satisfied if I don't actually ejaculate semen out my penis...just call me old fashioned....BTW, I'm 57, and the problem with BPH was diagnosed in 2002, so, I've had this problem since I was 43. My original urologist doesn't practice anymore, so, they referred me to a young Asian female doctor just out of med school....although she came highly recommended, when she rammed her finger up my butt, I almost asked her "how much"?.

BTW...the first time I had a cyctoscopy, back in 1997, they used a rigid scope, and put me out for it in the hospital....this time, no anesthesia, except for a little numbing jell, and the scope was flexible...I found it very painful, and uncomfortable....I won't have it again that way, if I have any say. I see the doc again in 2 weeks, so, I will let her know the problems, but, as Shack said, "things just ain't what they used to be, and I will just have to learn to live with it"..

You young fellows....enjoy it while you can..

I still enjoy sexual pleasure....but don't always ejaculate sperm when I do....but so what, I am not trying to have a child (father of 3...long time ago)...so as long as you enjoy it, don't worry about the sperm

A good friend of mine has been put on Prostate med's.
We were talking at a BBQ and me mentioned the same thing.
It is not consistently dry.
I mentioned that perhaps he could see a naturopath for a different form of treatment.
