More carnage. 2 sisters hit by SUV. The 4 year old is dead and her 7 year old sister is in hospital. Driver has been charged. The woman who drove into Costco and killed a kid has been given a suspended sentence.
Rockslinger, we know you cannot stay on topic for more than 5 minutes. This thread is about Muzzo. You love starting threads, go start another one every time there is a traffic accident in Ontario instead of adding them here and cluttering up this thread as you have been.

The woman driver who crashed into a Costco and killed a young child and an unborn baby got a suspended sentence.

I would guess that the fact that the lack of alcohol played a very big role in that decision. If I were the judge, I'd be perplexed as well.
From the article you posted "What made the case so difficult, the judge said, “is the fact there is no good explanation for what happened.”"

Maybe just me but these sentences seem very lenient. As the other poster pointed out, the woman who stopped her car for ducks and caused the death of 2 humans got 90 days.

There is now another case. 39 year old woman driver hits 2 sisters killing the 4 year old and injuring the 7 year old. The driver has been charged. (Turning the clock back next week will probably also result in more accidents.)

No alcohol involved with Emma Czornobaj (woman who helped animals) and very surprisingly, the wife and mother of the victims was satisfied with the sentence.
I do remember reading at the time when this was in the news, the husband/father driving the motorcycle apparently turned his head far back enough, rubber neck style, to see what Emma was doing and didn't pay attention to the road very well and played a big part of the accident as well.
Were he paying attention to the road, rather than the sideshow, he may have escaped death.
I tried a search for the article, no luck. Will try tomorrow.

Latest media reports (Dec. 10) suggest Muzzo**likely**to plead guilty, but possibility of release from prison as early as 2018.

If he pleads guilty, can the family sue him for damages in civil court?
One article I read speculated that since he is from money, part of the plea deal could include a substantial sum to the family... not to 'pay them off', but to ease their hardships as a result of these murders.

This would be similar to the Louise Russo case.

Yes, tied in to the reasoning behind a possible release from prison by 2018.

If I was the surviving family, the only thing that would ease my hardship would be seeing muzzo sentenced to 20 years.

No amount of money could ease the hardship. If someone killed 3 loved ones of mine? Fuck that shit.

I'm not a lawyer. But he can plead guilty if he wants. If the crown has a strong case against him, why accept a plea? Give him a trial and then convict him if found guilty. No deals. Otherwise these guys with money make a mockery out of the justice system (again).

It's going to be a very very tough Christmas for the victim's family.

Terrible.
