First, you're right, Southern Democrats did fight tooth and nail against desegregation. That's why they switched parties and joined the GOP. Strom Thurmond, who was once a "Dixiecrat" but a Democrat Senator until....1964, when he switched to the GOP. And why? He was against desegregation. Sounds like you believe a hack like Dinesh D'Souza and his incredibly inaccurate books and films. There is a long historical record showing Southern Democrats jumping to the GOP as Kennedy/Johnson pushed through the civil rights laws.
As for the second part of you statement...that white supremacy is only in the minds of lefties??? Seriously? It's all around us. I'm a white man, and I sure as hell can see it. Just look at incarceration rates for POC in both Canada & the US. Massive discrepancy. That's white supremacy. Look at how often cops kill or harass POC when they're unarmed? Yes, whites can be treated poorly by the police, but again, anyone with half a brain can see POC & whites are treated much differently. Now, look at all the states that are trying to pass new voting laws that would make it harder for minorities to vote. Sure, some white people would also be impacted, but by and large, these proposed laws do nothing but suppress voting from POC. Tell me how that isn't white supremacy?
Finally....the GOP is the party of the working class? That is total BS. What have they done to help the working class? They slashed taxes that predominantly helped the wealthy, they oppose raising the minimum wage, they treat the working poor with nothing but disdain. I mean, how many McDonald's and Walmart employees are forced to live on food stamps because these companies pay so poorly.
Basically, the GOP cannot govern. Their only tools are tax cuts, tax cuts, tax cuts. They hate "big government" so when they take power they fuck it up, leaving the Democrats to come in and clean up the mess. I can show you all sorts of examples, like the
Kansas Experiment, where the GOP led legislature slashed income taxes, saying it would create new revenue and jobs. Did not happen. In fact, it got so bad they had to repeal it all because they couldn't afford to fix critical infrastructure.
