Evidently an arbitrator has ruled that Ricky Williams must now return over $8 million of bonus money since he retired early.

Let's see now whether living his life the way he wants is more important than the green. Possibly a short-lived early retirement.

He'll be back next year for sure. He is allready is suspended this year. I doubt he'll be back with Miami though as they have there sights set on Edgerin James. My guess is Ricky will be a Raider.

ricky could not have really thought he could bail on his team at the last minute, and still be left to walk away with all that money.

he is not playing because he is a major pothead, and cant stay clean long enough to avoid punishment from the NFL. this other crap about not liking the publicity is pure bull. even if he comes back, he must face the music for the failing the drug tests for the third time. something he avoided with his half-arsed retirement.

one problem, as he is retired if he comes out of retirement he still must serve his 1 yr suspension.

He is serving the one year suspension right now. That's why he could not return this year in the first place due to 3 failed drug tests. Next year he'll be allowed to play.

not true, check nflpa.org he filed his retirement papers, thus is not elegible to serve his suspension.

He can come back next year. The one year suspension is in effect reagrdless if he wanted to come back or not this year.

if he comes back he will go on an inactive list with the dolphins. he will than be traded at the end of the year for a draft pic, if tey are lucky.he will then renegotiate with new team to keep all monies he has been paid and will sign for minimum, play one year or loaf for one year than be gone. his agent is in china right now tryin to convince him to come back. wonder what kind of weed they have in china.

Amazing. Ricky's agent now says that Ricky has a passion for football and is anxious to come back. Evidently they're exploring what his status is regarding his suspension.

And we thought he'd only come back because of the $8.6 million, not his passion for football. Boy, were we wrong.

Shack....give me 8.6 million and I'll develop a passion for whatever sport! LOL

Looks like RW might be back by game 8, depending on his conditioning and the suspension.

It's more interesting to see how his teammates will react. Zach Thomas has already voiced his opinion on Williams and rightly so. I believe Thomas to be the heart and soul of that team - a true pro who comes to play every day, without whining, without much fanfare outside Miami. He does his job and does it well.

If I were Williams I'd be courting the favors of the O Line, because without their support it might be a painful and long season.

Now I heard his agent says he only wants to play for one year. I guess his passion has a "best before date".
