The forgotten ones in Ukraine, this woman rescues, rehabilitates and fosters dogs.

This one was sweet.

Another great transformation

Max's transformation will melt your heart.

And Max's -from above- new friend.

Get some tissues. 😭😭

The Doggo at 1:05 didn't even want to eat, he just wanted some love first, then food.

Tags on their ears means the dogs have been spayed or neutered, a catch and release program.

This is an IG page that I follow based on "Bambuk" (= Bamboo), a dog in Kiev whose owner provides support and supplies for both injured and homeless people and animals.

Even dogs in Ukraine get more respect than brown and blsck families being bombed by the West.

I don't care that people put more value in Ukrainian lives. Just admit that Ukrainian lives to most of you people are much more valuable than brown or black lives. Never any humanity being shown when 'they mistakenly' invaded a country and caused millions of deaths.

Brown and black lives to most white people in the West and worth less than dogs in Ukraine.

Can we admit this?

I am looking to adopt a dog since mine passed away. Wonder if
I can arrange to have one saved in Ukraine to be sent here. I hope
there are enough good-heart locals and neighbors who rescue them
all.

I have been following her (her name is Olena) on Youtube for quite some time, along with contributing to her Patreon. She and her associates go into the war zone to rescue dogs abandoned. One really gets to see the damage caused by the Russians.

Funny you mention it a friend of mine emailed them because she wants to adopt a couple of dogs she saw in one of their videos.
I asked her for the email and here you go lovefurryfriends1@gmail.com, the girl running the whole thing is Olena.
Hope it works out for you. My friend is waiting for a another reply but it's looking more and more promising.

I signed up for Patreon to support her, haven't followed through the process myself to subscribe to the monthly program. Olena and her crew of friends are a great group of people.

Nice, thanks, bookmarked. Amazing that people with so little do as much as they can considering what they're going through.

I know someone that adopted a dog that was destined to be stir fried in black bean sauce over rice. An animal rescue group here in the gta worked with a rescue group in Asia to bring over a plane load of K9s to be adopted here and not eaten.
Perhaps something similar can be done with shelter here, bringing in abandoned dogs from the Ukraine.

Marc Chang was in Toronto I think in 2016, my xgf met him. He went to China and filmed undercover footage at the markets in Yulin, at times you would think they were on to him and would have killed him.
He managed to rescue quite a few dogs. Saw some of the footage and it's disturbing as fuck what they do to the dogs while they're alive.

No longer possible due to the CFIA prohibiting rescue dogs from countries that are at a high risk for rabies. Ukraine is one of them.

New measure prohibiting the entry of commercial dogs from countries at high-risk for dog rabies takes effect on World Rabies Day

As of September 28, 2022, the entry of commercial dogs into Canada from countries at high-risk for dog rabies will be prohibited until further notice. As of this date, commercial dogs from countries at high-risk for dog rabies will not be permitted to enter Canada and import permits will no longer be issued. Commercial dogs include dogs intended for purposes such as being given/transferred to another person, resale, adoption, fostering, breeding, show or exhibition and research.

As I noted in my previous reply, this is no longer possible.

As I, and many other TERB'ites, are animal lovers we can still show our true tangible support for the unfortunate pets left to survive with only the help of volunteers by making a cash donation.

Vets without Borders is a registered Canadian charity that is doing good work in Ukraine. CASH is the most effective donation we can make and it is simple, and tax deductible! Imagine how much dog borscht can be bought for the $50 upcharge or tip for a bbbj!

Ukraine Animal Crisis

The need is urgent – by the day and now, by the hour. More than 100,000 dogs, cats and other pets are in urgent need of food, water, medicine, and veterinary help.

We have partnerships with the three animal humanitarian agencies that can get the basics to where they are needed the most, including 700 Ukraine animal shelters and 1,200 drop-off points for food delivery where animals are sheltering with their human companions.

Your generous donation will help save animals in crisis and will provide the necessary relief for their carers who are desperately trying to source food, water, and medicine while under fire and under the threat of death.

Your donation is deeply valued. Thank you for providing them with some help and with some hope.

Lots of amazing Dogs available for adoption here in GTA ….. Just saying
You'd think so, but not really.

Today there are only 5 dogs up for adoption through the City of Toronto's portal. Just sayin'...

But getting a cheap dog isn't the point of 'rescuing' dogs from other areas were they would otherwise be street dogs or killed in a shelter. It's to try to help save one dog at a time.

20+ Dogs @Ontariospca
30+ Dogs @torontospca
60+ Dogs @ Redemptionpaws
There’s also adoption groups on Facebook
I’ve never looked at adopting a dog as a way to get “cheap” dog. All but 1 of my four legged family members have been rescued from shelters, most memorable one was sweet girl being taken out of her crate to be euthanized when I was at the shelter.
