Always. It's extremely rare for them to happen via email or through another social media avenue. You party first, get cool with the whole crew and management throughout the night, then deal with specifics later at the after party. But by then you already have the number and can text all that info, if you really need to.

100% it doesn't. Whenever you meet someone that high profile, showing your website or reviews is the tackiest thing you could do. They don't care about the semantics because it doesn't apply in that world. I don't even give my regular work number or name. I can't be associated with it and it's not mentioned or spoken about ever.
There is still a stigma associated with this industry and in certain circles, everything is dealt with in person by someone else or wired to you separately. It's also not the same hourly rate structure we see here.

It's who you know. I'd even say often, it's the behind the scenes guys who are more important to befriend. They know everyone and if you're legitimate acquaintances or friends, you will always get that text to come or an invite to whatever. They know what the game is. As per usual, Chloe nails it. The sp who tries to use their client as marketing - might make some money selling a story to a tabloid, but then will be persona non grata within that industry, except maybe stints at a Nevada brothel or some talk show curiosity. Look what happened to the lady (Ashley Dupre ) who was tied to Eliot spitzer (former NY Governor). (situation different, clearly illegal in USA, but still...). her career is over, no well to do guy will get ANYWHERE near her, so she tries to parlay it into bad TV shows and assorted circus sideshow bullshit. And that is in the US where bullshit makes up a significant portion of GDP! The higher the profile, the more important the discretion. Full stop. End of story. Its just that goddam simple.

So I used to work in a place where I had to deal with several celebrities.
Most of them have handlers to deal with this sort of thing.

Peepingtom I presume you are being facetious but someone who thinks that may misunderstand this world - to use Chloe again, my relationship w her is a business relationship. I have lots of business relationships. It doesn't stop me from liking some business associates more than others. So i can like Chloe, and I do a lot. But that is not our primary relationship. It is business. So if you come into this world looking for a girlfriend, someone to fall in love with, I think you probably need to go elsewhere. I liken this to WWE wrestling. To ask the question: "Is wrestling fake?" is to ask the wrong question. If instead you ask "Am I entertained?" then you've asked the right question. So I enjoy the fact that a top quality sp like Chloe makes me feel special, like a real girlfriend - but I would never think because of how we shared companionship that maybe she was truly in love w me or anything at all like that. Instead I am grateful that for an hour (or whatever) she was able to transport me for out of my world and allow me to express some affection, and make me forget I'm in my mid 50s and forget about the serious stuff I have to deal w in my life. Instead i get an hour's application of joy that will leave me smiling for some time thereafter. So, is THAT experience worth the cost? is the only decision here. I say yes.
