The stink to high heavens if u don't clean their cage every 2 days, they make loud annoying noises if they are thirsty or food dish is not full at all times and they eat their edible houses (fantastic $ making scheme) Oh how I love my guinea pig!

nice pets actually. My son insisted on getting a rat when he was younger, bought the cage, the animal and all supplies with his birthday money ... how could I say no? Her name was Jasmine.. she used to lay on my neck under my hair and sleep...it was nice and warm there I guess lol ... she was super cute when little and cause we watched her grow she stayed super cute in our eyes. people used to freak out when she came crawling out from under my hair though...lol
Rats are the best!! I had several of them and they are very smart, use to follow me around. The only thing is that they're nocturnal so not a great idea to have them in the bedroom as they like to play and jump around. I was also thinking of trying a guinea pig as a pet ...I think in Peru they eat them.

I had some when I was in Peru. They're called 'cuy' down there (pronouced kwee), supposed to be very lean and healthy.

Looked like this (they roast them pretty dark) except mine was split sagitally:

A little chewy.

Can't imagine why anyone would want a rodent for a pet... They caused the plague (okay, actually the Catholics were responsible, but rats spread the disease). Same with pigs. I don't get it, what's wrong with dogs and cats.
