I've only told one person and I regret it.
She was really persistent, wondering why I wasn't married and didn't have long term relationships. So I told her I sometimes saw escorts and she was disgusted, thinking I was probably disease ridden.
At least she isn't the type to blab to her friends.

I wouldn't put any effort into defining it. It's just something I do every once in a while when the mood strikes me. I book a couple of hours with a woman whose company I enjoy and I have a good time. It's as much of a hobby to me as, say, going out for a good meal or the theatre.
I don't think many women appreciate being someone's "hobby" either.

I have a couple friends who I discuss the hobby with. I will simply say I had Korean, Chinese, Canadian, French or Italian etc for lunch or dinner and they know I am not talking about food. They could give a crap about what I eat but they seem to want to know WHO I eat lol
I just discuss the hobby with fellow friends that partake in the hobby or have in the past, since I know for a fact they wouldn't judge me then...
I have told my regular SP that I've been seeing for about 13 years, just that. Being a single guy with a fetish big black booty, I get a lot of sexual tension built up, and when I see her, it's like it all gets let out and suddenly I'm in a great mood with a clear head, both literally and figuratively.
Fuck that. Even if you're single, one day you won't be, and if someone knows you used to participate, even if they are 'good guys' or close friends, it could one day slip out, even just as a joke, or if they think no one else in earshot. Then you may have some 'splaining to do, and it could have an severely negative impact on your life. Bad idea to blab.

If anything remotely related to this hobby comes up in conversation socially or at work, etc. I keep my comments very low key and make like I'm relatively uninformed and naïve about the whole industry. In these cases, I make like everything I know I learned either through the news or tv and movies.
Since I've never discussed this with anyone outside the hobby, I have no idea if any of my friends or colleagues hobby.
I'm sure some must, but it would be pure speculation on my part.
