The reason I ask during a normal flu season so many people I know are sick around the same time . I currently don't know any one with this virus ...Is this just overblown?

Fear of the virus may be overblown. Nonetheless it is still
prudent to err on the cautious side.

Three. Thankfully all young and recovered (hopefully without lasting lung damage).

I don't know anyone personally with it but I have heard from a couple of friends who know someone close to them. It seems that the expected numbers based on the models were way overstated but it still is a serious virus due to it being highly contagious.

...and very damaging.

But don't worry. It is all a hoax.

I don't know anyone for sure although a business associate was in self quarantine because he was in contact with someone who tested positive.

Today I texted that same person and he was at the hospital because he said he felt terrible.

Will contact him tomorrow to see how he's doing.

A few people I work with in both Canada the US.

All in their 40's. One person passed away (circumstances not known), the other two stayed home and roughed it out. One person went to the hospital but was not on a ventilator system.

In Jan/Feb I had the flu for the first time in many years and it ht me like a ton of bricks. Body aches, headache, clogged sinus, nausea, diarrhea...but no respiratory problems. Most intense symptoms lasted 3 -4 days, but it took a good couple of weeks to get back to normal.

Fortunately I have been able to work from home (pop into the office once a week to get mail). I am sick of on-line meetings and the endless COVID19 bullshit.

I go out for groceries/booze and if i need anything from other stores I buy on line for delivery or pick-up.

An acquaintance of mine at work has it. He's a short stubby guy who is a smoker. He's not doing well. In hospital. My neighbor had it. Mid 30s heavy set. He's been in hospital several times for oxygen. He's on the mend but not perfect yet. Been fighting it for 3 weeks.

I also know someone who has it, haven't gotten an update on his condition. He's a workaholic with a drinking problem. In these grim times; work hard, play hard, isn't a good idea.

People in New York thought it was a hoax too... until it spread exponentially like expected. We are just starting to see numbers increase here, and it's a great thing, we've done an amazing job with social distancing and have kept it (relatively) at bay. The next three weeks are going to be hell though. Buckle up.

A family in Collingwood , been sick for 2 weeks . The person I know has had all the symptoms and has been to the local hospital 3 times but can't get tested because they say they don't have any tests.

Word on the street is that the local old folks home had four people expire this week.

No one is saying out loud what really happened, as news is generally being suppressed now.

It is pointless to wonder what really happened, as we all know what did happen.

They won't include this into the stats so the government won't look as bad.

Other than Trump I don’t know anyone else that has anal syphilis so does that mean it doesn’t exist?

No, but I also don't hang around 80 year olds in old folks homes.

And you think that's the only place you need to worry about???
Up until a week ago I knew of no one getting it. Now, one neighbour on a ventilator in ICU, his wife tested positive and quarantined at home
