If you read carefully you will find I explained it before. Bursaries, grants and scholarships are all funding available to students. Many, possibly most run year by year. Some are only a available for a specific year. Those that live in perpetuity provide funding based on the 'interest' that the money donated originally. Many universities in the states have been having hard times making ends meet. Given I was from the UK and studying in the US my grant ran out of money and as a foreign student mine was cut first.
As I already wrote but you apparently did not see.... My father never wanted me to go to medical school and would never lend me money for it. I did borrow from my aunt and every friend I could. There was not enough to pay for tuition in the US. US banks will not lend someone on a student visa from another country any significant amount of money. It does not work like that. Retired school teachers in the US on a tiny pension are not considered great co-signers. What part of this did you ,miss from my previous posts? Could I have gone back to London and finished there? Not really, given my father's financial worth I would have been denied most grants. Even if I am 25 and had not seen them in several years.
My husband makes 10 times more than I would make as a doctor. If we become non residents he saves more than 2 or 3 times what I can earn as a doctor. As a family my working as a doctor would cost us money every year. Why would anyone in their right mind want to pay the government to practice medicine in Canada? I will enjoy cruising sunny waters and being a non-resident much more. Loki has decided to eliminate any concerns I might have. Reading the posts in the last few days has helped out family dynamics evolve.
A few corrections. Now I am at the King Eddy fighting stomach cramps. The other day I was in the car typing away and reading it all to Loki. Most often we are on the couch and he is doing financial things and rubbing my feet. I am typing on the lap top.

And all that stuff about cheaper for you to not work. So he saves 150 to 200 K in taxes breaks? If he is that wealthy you should have opened an HMO and made money had over fist.
Screw medicine in Canada as someone trained in the states you should haveset up shop there. Most drs doen't have the means to open a HMO but with daddy warbucks you could have easily done that. Hell you could have been the boss and not even work that much.

You know why grants just reeked of BS? You would have mentioned by now that you were doing medical research as typically grants are associated with that..... as opposed to bursaries and scholarships.

i am stuck in a truck stop in socal, have been all weekend and i have nothing to do. i will probably be here for a few more days as well. i have resisted the urge so far to pile on with the other guys till this point, don't make me re think that.
